Its giving burnout
Anyone else just cannot wait for Friday to hit??
Totally get that feeling of just waiting for Friday to hit! As a working woman, I've been there so many times, bordering on what feels like 'survival mode' by Wednesday. We often put on a brave face, saying 'oh yeah, we’re doing fine,' but inside, it's that little 'eye twitch' that gives us away, doesn't it? It's so easy to feel overwhelmed, but I've found a few things that really help when work burnout starts creeping in. First, setting boundaries is non-negotiable. I used to answer emails late into the evening, but now I try to stick to my working hours as much as possible. It's tough at first, but people adapt, and it's essential for protecting your mental space. Another game-changer for me has been scheduling 'me-time' just like I schedule work meetings. Whether it's a 30-minute walk during lunch, reading a book before bed, or even just listening to a podcast while doing chores, these small pockets of time help recharge my battery. I also try to delegate where I can, both at work and at home. We don't have to do everything ourselves, and sometimes asking for help is the strongest thing you can do. When you're already feeling burnt out, the idea of just 'keeping going' can seem impossible. I've learned to break down big tasks into smaller, manageable chunks. Instead of looking at a huge project, I focus on just one step at a time. Celebrating these small wins, even internally, helps build momentum. Also, maintaining a consistent sleep schedule, even on weekends, has made a huge difference. It feels counterintuitive when you want to 'catch up' on sleep, but irregular sleep just throws your body off more. That dreaded weekend fatigue is real! You spend all week pushing, only to crash when you finally have time off. To combat this, I try not to overschedule my weekends. It’s tempting to fill them with errands and social events, but sometimes a quiet Saturday morning with coffee and no agenda is exactly what I need. I also try to incorporate light exercise, like a gentle yoga session or a walk in nature, to boost my energy without exhausting myself further. And honestly, unplugging from work notifications as much as possible from Friday evening until Monday morning is crucial. It allows your mind to truly disconnect and recover. Remember, you're not alone in these feelings. Prioritizing your well-being isn't selfish; it’s necessary for long-term career success and a happier life. Let's support each other in navigating this working woman journey!
