2B Bike License Lesson 5.02 ( Attempt 2,3 and 4 )

Hello 2B Aspirants and holders!

My apologies for the long delay as i’ve been dead set on getting lesson 5.02 completed for a long time but here it is! I’ve finally graduated from circuit and will be heading out to road soon!

For the assessment here are some tips that might help you to prepare and eventually ace the test!

Tip 1: CHECK YOUR BLINDSPOTS

Checking your blindspots at the correct places is really important. I got so many points on my first and second attempts because i didn’t check my blindspots at the correct areas and at the correct timing. For example, when turning corners or when exiting the pylon stage. So please keep in mind to check your blindspots 🙏

Tip 2: LISTEN TO THE INSTRUCTOR

I noticed that different instructors have different ways of conducting the assessment so the best is to keep quiet and listen up especially when they tell you about ur mistakes.

Tip 3: MENTALLY VISUALISE

Before each assessment, I always mentally visualised the circuit and entire assessment a day and a few hours before going for assessment. It definitely helped mentally prepare me for the test and it could help you too!

Tip 4: YOU ARE ON ASSESSMENT

During my third attempt at the minor road near the start point, i made an abrupt lane change to join up with students from lesson 2.2 since i thought they were also queueing up to exit as well. However, they were not and simply stopped to wait for their instructor. So lesson learnt, always remember that you are in an assessment and continue on the same route, not stopping unless you have to.

Tip 5: DON’T GIVE UP

As much as you want to, i urge you not to give up so fast if you fail on your first and second attempt as I only passed on my 4th attempt. Everyone is on their own time and pace so don’t compare yourself to other students. You’ll get there eventually ☺️🙏

Thats all the tips i have for the time being and im relieved that I’ve finally passed the first big hurdle and im one step closer to TP 🙏

Till then, ride safe and good luck to those taking their assessments or TP tests!

Ride safe!

James

... Read moreHaving personally navigated the challenges of the 2B bike license assessments, I can attest that persistence is truly key. One of the biggest lessons I learned is the critical importance of consistently checking your blindspots—not just occasionally but precisely at corners and during maneuvers like exiting the pylon stage. Missing these key moments can lead to demerit points that add up quickly. In addition, each instructor has a unique style and instructions, so it's beneficial to listen carefully and take constructive feedback seriously. This helped me fine-tune my riding and understand what specific aspects to improve. Mental preparation also made a significant difference; I found that vividly picturing the circuit and the required tasks several times before the test helped me feel more confident and less anxious. During one attempt, I mistakenly stopped mid-assessment thinking I was following others, but it cost me valuable points. It reminded me to always stay focused on my own route and the assessment flow. Lastly, failure on initial attempts is common, and not a reflection of your ultimate capability. Everyone progresses at their own pace. Through perseverance and focused practice, passing the assessment and advancing towards the Traffic Police Practical Test became achievable. For those preparing at Bukit Batok Driving Centre Ltd or elsewhere, I recommend attending additional revision sessions to sharpen your riding skills. Make sure to bring all necessary documents like your valid NRIC or passport, FIN card (if applicable), and your Class 2B e-PDL for smooth registration at the Traffic Police Practical Test. Staying organized and mentally prepared can greatly ease the process. Above all, ride safely and maintain a positive mindset. Each failed attempt is just another step closer to success. With patience and practice, you will reach your goal and enjoy the freedom that comes with having your 2B bike license.
