2B Bike License Lesson 6.01 (First Attempt)

Hello again fellow riders!

I’ve passed my first road lesson and i can’t lie, it was excitingly scary 😂🥲

For today’s lesson. It was learning how to ride in different formations, staggered and single line. And also getting used to going faster on roads 🫡

Before lesson i was super nervous since its my first time going on the road and being the lead student bike just behind the lead instructor 💀 but after riding out in the road for abit, i got the hang of it and it actually became really fun to go fast and get familiar with the road dynamics.

Some tips that i found that could help are:

1: Always glance up and down

Glancing up and down at the rider infront and the road ahead helps with managing your speed and predicting skills when it comes time to go in single line or staggered line formations.

2: Always take the safe route

During the lesson, i almost ran a red light 🤧 but i didn’t see a flash so i hope it was okay. If it were to happen to you though, i suggest taking the safer route and stopping when the light is amber.

3: Don’t be afraid to go fast

There were certain parts of the road where the speed limit was 70km/h. In this case, dont be afraid to speed up and catch up to the instructor or the bike infront of you so that you won’t break formation. But of course the roads in the neighbourhood area are below 50km/h so keep to the speed limit and enjoy the ride 🙏

Anyways thats pretty much all i have for this lesson. It was a fun introduction to what riding on the road felt like and i can’t wait to learn the actual road route for my TP test! 😋

With that, i have 2 more practical lessons to go before TP test. My BBDC journey is coming to an end soon and i hope all will go smoothly during the actual TP test 🙏🙏🙏

Remember to ride safe everyone!

... Read moreStarting to ride on public roads for your 2B bike license can be a nerve-wracking yet thrilling experience, as I found during my first road lesson. I quickly realized that understanding riding formations like staggered and single line is key for group safety and coordination. The staggered formation, where riders alternate on the left and right sides of a lane, gives enough space for quick reactions and better visibility, while single line riding is essential in narrower roads or heavy traffic. A practical tip I discovered is constantly scanning both the rider ahead and the road conditions. This helps when adjusting speed or changing formations, preventing sudden braking or collisions. It also improves your situational awareness, allowing you to anticipate hazards before they occur. One important lesson is not to be afraid of the road speed when in safe zones. For example, when the speed limit rises to 70 km/h, gently accelerating to keep up with your instructor keeps the formation intact and builds your confidence. However, always respect residential and neighborhood speed limits, which are usually 50 km/h or less, prioritizing safety over speed. I also experienced a close call nearly running a red light. This highlighted how valuable it is to make cautious judgments at intersections and never rush through amber lights. Always opt for caution —better to stop and stay safe than risk an accident. Throughout this learning journey at Bukit Batok Driving Centre, it’s clear that practice is key. Each lesson helps build not only technical skills but also the mental readiness to face real-world riding challenges. I'm excited to tackle the next lessons and prepare thoroughly for my TP test. For new riders, embracing these early lessons with patience and focus will make your motorbike journey safer and more enjoyable. Remember, every rider starts somewhere, and getting comfortable with road dynamics and your dream bike, such as the Yamaha I aspire to own, makes all the effort worthwhile. Stay safe and keep riding confidently!
