Bone marrow for baby✨🩵BLW

One of the first foods we gave our baby was bone marrow and he absolutely loved it! The first time he tried bone marrow was when he was 4 months old and now it’s a regular around here🤤

I have tried and and it’s not bad at all on some toast✨

There are so many health benefits in eating bone marrow:

... Read moreAfter sharing our journey with bone marrow for baby-led weaning, I often get asked, "How do you even prepare it?" and "Is it really that good for them?" Let me tell you, yes and yes! Seeing my little one thrive on this nutrient-dense food has been incredibly rewarding. It's not just about being very iron rich; it's also packed with healthy fats crucial for brain development, amino acids for growth, and those amazing anti-inflammatory properties that decrease inflammation and boost immune function. It truly helps build stem cells and can even control blood sugar and reduce joint pain, making it a fantastic addition to any baby's diet. Getting started with beef bone marrow for baby might seem daunting, but it’s surprisingly straightforward. Here’s my go-to method for preparing it, ensuring it’s safe and delicious for your little one, whether you're aiming for a bone marrow baby puree or a BLW-friendly spread: Sourcing the Best Bones: I always look for 100% GRASS FED BEEF MARROW BONES. You can usually find them at your local organic butcher or health food stores. Make sure to check local organic stores for this to ensure the best quality! Simple Roasting: Place your raw marrow bones in a baking pan. I like to drizzle a little olive oil over them. For older babies or if you're making it for the whole family, you can add some garlic confit for extra flavor, but for pure baby consumption, I often skip it or add just a tiny bit for a very mild hint. Bake to Perfection: Pop them into a preheated oven and Bake @ 350° F For 30 min. The goal is for the marrow to be soft and easily scoopable. Scoop & Chill: Once baked, carefully scoop out all the marrow into a bowl, making sure to get all that rich fat. Let this mixture harden in the fridge for about an hour. This step is key for getting the right consistency. Whip It Up!: After it's hardened, take it out and whip up the bone marrow with a hand mixer until it's smooth and creamy. This makes it perfect for spreading or mixing. Store & Serve: Now it’s ready! I like to JAR And Enjoy by storing it in small, lidded, airtight jars in the fridge. It typically lasts for a few days. For baby led weaning bone marrow, once whipped, it's fantastic spread thinly on a piece of toast or a soft cracker – yes, it can get a little messy, but that’s part of the fun! For younger babies or those not quite ready for BLW, you can easily turn this into a bone marrow baby puree. Just blend the whipped marrow with a little breast milk, formula, or vegetable broth to reach your desired consistency. You can also mix a spoonful into other purees like sweet potato or avocado for an extra nutritional boost, ensuring your baby gets all the bone marrow benefits. Remember to always introduce new foods one at a time and consult your pediatrician. While bone marrow for babies is generally safe and incredibly beneficial, especially as an excellent source of iron, ensuring proper preparation and appropriate serving size is important. It's a wonderful way to introduce healthy fats and crucial vitamins to your little one's diet, supporting their growth and immune function.
