the ONLY cookie recipe you’ll ever need 🍪😮💨
You guyssss…. I’ve had a LOT of cookies in my lifetime. But these? LIFE. CHANGING. Literally better than any other cookie I’ve ever tried! Slight crunch on the outside, with chewy and (slightly) gooey goodness on the inside 😮💨🤌🏻
The secret sauce with these cookies is literally in its name: brown butter. I never realized how much of a difference this makes until I actually tried it!! When I tell y’all it was so so hard to not inhale the entire batch when I took them out of the oven! 🥲
Here’s the deets on how to make them👇🏻
Ingredients:
🤎1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
🤎1/2 cup brown sugar
🤎1/4 cup granulated sugar
🤎1 large egg
🤎1 tsp vanilla extract
🤎1 cup all-purpose flour
🤎1/2 tsp baking soda
🤎1/4 tsp salt
🤎3/4 cup dark chocolate chips or chunks
🤎Flaky sea salt (optional)
Instructions:
In a saucepan over medium/low heat, melt the butter. Keep stirring - it will foam, then turn golden brown. If you start seeing some light brown flakes once the butter starts browning, that’s perfect! Turn the heat off and let cool for about 15 minutes.
Once the melted butter has cooled, whisk together the butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar. Then add the egg and vanilla extract and whisk until completely blended.
Add the dry ingredients (all-purpose flour, baking soda and salt) and mix until just combined, then fold in the dark chocolate chips.
THIS NEXT PART IS SO SO IMPORTANT: roll the dough into balls, *then* put them in the fridge to chill for 24 hours. Chilling the dough before baking prevents the cookies from spreading all over the baking pan, and also elevates the flavor!
Once the dough is ready to bake, set the oven to 350 degrees and bake for 9-11 minutes. Sprinkle sea salt on top of the cookies and enjoy! 🍪🫶🏻
