This recipe combines the sweetness of Hawaiian rolls with the rich, creamy flavor of eggnog, making it a delightful treat for all ages. You can easily adapt this dish to serve a larger group by scaling up the ingredients or using a larger baking dish. The key to this recipe is using quality ingredients. Choose fresh Hawaiian rolls for a soft and fluffy texture that will soak up the egg mixture beautifully. The mixture itself typically includes eggs, eggnog, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract, providing a depth of flavor that will elevate your breakfast experience. When preparing the casserole, be sure to let it bake uncovered for the first part of the time to achieve a nice golden top, then cover it to ensure the inside cooks thoroughly without over-browning. The final result is a decadent, custardy casserole that pairs wonderfully with syrup, whipped cream, or even a sprinkle of powdered sugar. For variations, consider adding spices like nutmeg or incorporating mix-ins such as chocolate chips or dried fruit for additional sweetness. This casserole isn't just a hit on Christmas morning; it can bring joy any day of the week! Enjoy sharing this delightful dish at your next gathering and create lasting memories around the breakfast table.
