DIML as a college student at USC

... Read moreBeyond just my typical Thursday, I wanted to share some thoughts on what truly makes USC student life so vibrant and how I’ve learned to thrive here, especially as a senior! One of the biggest challenges, and ultimately rewards, is finding that sweet spot between hitting the books and enjoying everything the beautiful USC campus has to offer. My secret? A combination of effective time management and knowing when to prioritize self-care. I always make sure to schedule my workouts at the gym, like that morning run, and dedicate specific library hours for focused study. The libraries at USC, especially the one with the gorgeous stained glass windows, really do make studying more motivating and less daunting. These dedicated study spots become your sanctuary during midterms and finals! But it's not all about academics, right? USC boasts such a fantastic social scene, and it’s something I've cherished throughout my years here. From grabbing a casual pizza dinner with friends after a long day of classes to getting glammed up for a girls' night out, there's always something happening. My advice for anyone new to USC is to dive headfirst into campus life. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there – join clubs that align with your interests, go to campus events like football games or concerts, and even just strike up conversations in your classes. I've found some of my best friends this way, and these connections are what truly enrich your college experience. Whether it's a spontaneous outing to explore LA or a late-night study session that turns into a coffee chat, these moments are priceless. Speaking of classes, I particularly love the unique venues at USC. My Norris Cinema class really does feel like a movie theater, making learning an experience rather than just a lecture. It’s those little details that make a big difference! Beyond the classrooms, the stunning USC campus itself, with its iconic brick buildings, central tower, and serene clock tower, makes every walk to class feel inspiring. During my senior year, I’ve made it a point to appreciate these surroundings even more. There are so many hidden gems and great spots to just relax or catch up with friends between lectures. Taking a moment to soak it all in truly helps manage the stress of a busy schedule. For anyone thinking about attending USC or currently navigating their studies, my biggest piece of advice is to embrace the balancing act. It's okay to have busy days packed with classes and work, but it's equally important to make time for fun, friends, and self-care. Utilize every campus resource available – whether it's the gym for a stress-relieving workout, the library for quiet study, the many student organizations for community, or even the wellness centers for support. USC student life is what you actively make it. By engaging with both your academic responsibilities and your vibrant social opportunities, you'll not only succeed academically but also create unforgettable memories and build a strong foundation for your future. Fight on!

USC looks kinda cute, ngl. But my bank account could never handle that tuition, so state school it is ✌️
