The Secret to Extra Gooey Rice Krispie Treats ✨
These are one of those desserts that instantly make me feel like a kid again. 🥹💕
Rice Krispie treats were always one of my favorite things growing up, but I wanted to make a version that felt a little more fun. The second I grabbed the Fruity Pebbles, I already knew they were going to be dangerous. 😂
I also have one non negotiable… cereal treats should NEVER be dry. If they’re not soft, gooey, and pulling apart when you take a bite, I don’t want them. 🥰
The sweetened condensed milk is the little trick that keeps them bakery soft, and folding in extra marshmallows at the end gives you those melty pockets that make them so much better than the boxed version.
Here’s exactly how I make them:
🤍 Ingredients
* 6 cups Fruity Pebbles
* 1 cup Rice Krispies (optional)
* 1 stick unsalted butter
* 1 (16 oz) bag mini marshmallows
* ⅓ cup sweetened condensed milk
* 1 tsp vanilla
* Pinch of salt
✨ Directions
Melt the butter over low heat, then stir in all but 2 cups of the marshmallows until they’re almost melted. Add the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, and salt, then remove from the heat. Pour the mixture over the cereal, fold everything together, then gently mix in the reserved marshmallows. Press lightly into a greased 9x13 pan (don’t pack them down!), then let them cool for about 30–45 minutes before cutting into squares.
If you’re feeling extra, drizzle a little white chocolate over the top and sprinkle on a handful of Fruity Pebbles. It makes them look so cute. 🌈✨
These disappear so fast every single time I make them. 💕
