skin care myths and facts!

2025/6/4 Edited to

... Read moreOne important myth I encountered is that drinking water directly hydrates your skin. In my experience, while water is vital for overall health, the skin's hydration depends more on topical moisturizers and your skin's barrier function than just water intake. I found that using a good moisturizer helps lock in moisture better. Another misconception is that higher SPF means significantly better sun protection. I learned that SPF above a certain point offers little extra benefit but often contains more chemicals, which could irritate sensitive skin. It’s best to choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF suited to your daily needs and reapply regularly. Also, piling on many products thinking it will speed up results can backfire. I noticed my skin would get irritated or break out when I layered too many active ingredients. Simplifying my routine to fewer but effective products prevented clogged pores and dryness. Understanding these facts helped me personalize my skincare, focusing on gentle cleansing, adequate hydration, and sun protection. This approach made a big difference in improving my skin’s glow and health over time.
