TIRAMISU CINNAMON ROLLS ☕️
Meet your new obsession: soft, espresso-swirled cinnamon rolls finished with a mascarpone glaze that tastes just like tiramisu.
Dough:
* 2 3/4 cups flour
* 1/4 cup sugar
* 1/2 tsp salt
* 3/4 cup warm milk + 3 tbsp butter
* 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
* 1 egg
Whisk dry ingredients. Warm milk & butter, mix in yeast, let sit 5 min. Add the butter mixture to the dry ingredients, and add in an egg. Stir until a shaggy dough forms, and then knead 3–5 min until smooth. You can add extra flour to your hands or the bowl if it gets too sticky. Cover and let rise 45–60 min.
Filling:
* 1/4 cup brown sugar
* 2 tbsp butter, softened
* 1 1/2 tsp espresso
* 1 tsp vanilla
* 2 tbsp sugar
* 1 tsp cinnamon
Spread on dough, slice, roll up, and let rise 15–30 min in a greased dish.
Bake: 375°F for 22–25 min until golden. Let rolls *cool* so your glaze doesn’t melt.
Glaze:
* 3/4 cup mascarpone
* 1/4 cup heavy cream
* 4 tbsp powdered sugar
* 1 tsp vanilla
Beat the marscapone and whipped cream until smooth and fluffy. Mix in powdered sugar and vanilla, and top rolls.

Tiramisu cinnamon rolls combine the beloved flavors of classic Italian tiramisu with the comforting texture of traditional cinnamon rolls. The key to their distinct taste lies in the espresso-swirled dough, which infuses the rolls with a rich coffee flavor, perfectly complemented by the warm cinnamon and brown sugar filling. Using instant yeast helps the dough rise beautifully, creating that soft, fluffy texture that’s essential for great cinnamon rolls. The mascarpone glaze, made from mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla, adds a luscious, creamy finish that mimics the delicious topping of tiramisu dessert. Letting the rolls cool before glazing is crucial to prevent the glaze from melting and losing its texture. For best results, use high-quality mascarpone cheese and freshly brewed espresso or high-grade instant espresso powder to enhance the flavor profile. Additionally, allowing the dough to rise adequately—between 45 to 60 minutes initially, and a further 15 to 30 minutes after rolling—ensures the rolls remain tender with a perfect pull-apart consistency. These tiramisu cinnamon rolls are ideal for breakfast, brunch, or as a decadent dessert treat, providing an espresso kick combined with the sweet and spiced cinnamon aroma. Tips: - For a dairy-free alternative, substitute mascarpone and heavy cream with vegan cream cheese and coconut cream. - Experiment with adding a dusting of cocoa powder on top before serving to boost the tiramisu-inspired flavor. - Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheat gently before serving to maintain softness. This recipe is a wonderful way to bring together baking creativity and traditional Italian flavors, perfect for coffee lovers and dessert enthusiasts alike.
