Pre-k journey

So, what do you think? 🥹

This little beauty was picked up from pre-K on his second day… and started crying his eyes out because he didn’t want to leave! 😂

I honestly couldn’t believe it took him just TWO days to get so attached to the place. And as a mom I’m so happy that he’s happy to go there every day. But at the same time… it breaks my heart a little bit that he’s already so excited to stay without me. 🥹

I guess this is what growing up looks like.

Let’s see how our third day goes. I hope it will be just as great! 🤍

... Read moreStarting pre-K can be such a rollercoaster for both toddlers and parents. From my experience, seeing your little one form an instant connection with their pre-K environment, like the quick attachment mentioned here, is both comforting and a bit bittersweet. It’s amazing how children adapt and find comfort among new friends, teachers, and routines almost right away. One of the key things that helped with our transition was establishing a consistent drop-off routine. Saying goodbye with a hug and a cheerful promise to return later made separation a little easier for my child. Also, engaging with the preschool staff early on gave me confidence that my child was in caring hands. Places like "KLAISCHOOL" (highlighted in the photo) often offer open-door policies or welcome visits, which can help toddlers familiarize themselves with the environment before fully attending. Another tip that worked well was talking about the fun activities the child would do each day—whether it was art, playtime, or storytime. This built excitement and turned the idea of pre-K into something to look forward to rather than fear. For many moms, like the author, witnessing this step towards independence can be emotional yet rewarding. It’s a reminder that while the child is growing and becoming more confident, the parent’s role evolves too—supporting from near but also letting go a little. If you’re a parent preparing for a pre-K journey, be patient with yourself and your child. Celebrate the small victories, like the happy tears and eagerness to stay, because these moments mark important milestones in your child’s development and your shared journey.
