Where my breastfeeding moms at? 🤩

This is the main reason why I’m on lemon8! My bestfriend sent me some vegan recipes to keep me satisfied and full of nutrients & told me to download lemon8. So here I am with an exclusively breastfed newborn & she is growing super fast! She’s almost doubled her birth weight now at 2 months old 😅 she gaining weight & im losing weight and I want to gain some back 🤣

... Read moreIt's so true, isn't it? When you're exclusively breastfeeding, it often feels like 80% of my day is spent breastfeeding! That's why fueling your body right is absolutely crucial, not just for your baby's growth – like my little one doubling her birth weight so quickly – but for your own energy and well-being too. I've been on a mission to find the most wholesome foods that are easy to prepare and pack a nutritional punch. For me, focusing on a plant-based diet means I'm constantly looking for nutrient-dense options. Think about incorporating plenty of leafy greens, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and legumes into your meals. Smoothies have become my best friend – I can pack so much goodness into one glass, like spinach, berries, plant-based protein powder, and chia seeds, all while holding a baby! Overnight oats are another lifesaver; you just prep them the night before, and breakfast is ready. And don't forget healthy fats from avocados, nuts, and olive oil – they're essential for both you and baby's brain development. The challenge of losing weight while breastfeeding is real! It's surprising how many calories you burn. I'm focusing on eating consistently throughout the day, choosing balanced snacks like fruit with nut butter, or hummus with veggie sticks, rather than reaching for empty calories. Hydration is key too; keeping a water bottle handy while you're nursing helps a lot. It's all about providing that 'wholesome feed' for both of us. Beyond the food, the breastfeeding journey comes with its own unique set of practicalities. For instance, managing milk flow and occasional leaks can be a real thing! Investing in good quality nursing pads and a comfortable, supportive bra makes a huge difference. And if you're ever worried about supply or latch, don't hesitate to reach out to a lactation consultant – they are truly angels sent from above. Every mom's journey is different, and some even manage 'tandem breastfeeding' with an older child, which is incredible! While I'm just starting with my newborn, I'm always amazed by the resilience of other moms. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, and there will be days when you feel completely drained. On those days, remember it’s okay to ask for help, whether it’s from your partner, family, or friends. Let them bring you a meal or watch the baby so you can rest. Prioritizing rest, even short naps, can make a world of difference when you're spending so much time nurturing your little one. We're all in this together, and sharing tips and experiences makes the journey so much richer!
