My struggle “healthy” dinner
I’m real life dealing with the recession so groceries and choosing healthier options can be tricky, sooo
I usually get the pre packaged salads and meats i’ll but the frozen ones. And the cheaper great value brands for carbs like rice or tortilla and breads
I try to do it that way so I can have some extra cash for produce
I made this fish burrito with a salad, and cherries for dessert
Overall rating: 5/10
Cause it was sooo bland lol!! but I am trying so hard to be healthier, as I get older my stomach becomes more sensitive so I have to be really careful with what i eat
Eating healthy on a budget can be challenging, especially during economic downturns. Here are some useful tips to streamline the process: 1. **Meal Planning:** Creating a meal plan for the week can significantly reduce food waste and help you stick to healthier choices. 2. **Smart Shopping:** Prioritize buying seasonal produce, as they are often cheaper and fresher. Look for local farmers' markets that offer quality items at lower prices. 3. **Bulk Purchases:** Consider purchasing grains, legumes, and frozen fruits or vegetables in bulk. These items tend to be more affordable and have a longer shelf life. 4. **Cooking Methods:** Experiment with cooking methods like steaming or baking, which can enhance the flavor of your meals without a lot of added fats or calories. 5. **Flavor Enhancements:** If you find healthy dishes bland, try using herbs, spices, and citrus to boost the flavor without adding extra calories. By adopting these strategies, you can maintain a healthier diet while keeping your budget in check.
