Its very important as black people to pratice cultural preservation. Its doesnt matter what part of the world your from. Gatekeeping is very important because it prevent outsiders from capitalizing off black creatively and culture.
Food and Cooking: It very important to learn how to cook your cultural foods and preserve them. Learn the recipes and stop buying fast food and learn how to cook foods from all region off your culture.Ex If you're black American learn how to cook gulla people's food or dishes from Louisiana even if youre from the Midwest or up north. Its very important for all black people men and women to know how to cook. Food is culture. If more black people cook thier food your keeping the black dollar because your not giving away your dollars to other companies. EX I was raised to know how to cook soul/ carribean/ west african food ...you know why because thats how you keep tradition and culture. No water down dna. Food is part of the dna. Food is very spiritual. If you cant cook your cultural food that means youre a person that very easy to having thier dna be erase , its that serious.
Dating: Im not aganist interracial dating because I personally dont care what anyone does...but Its better and safer to date within your own race or culture. Its personally important for black people. Its too many stories I hear about Black women or men dating people outside thier race or culture and the family disapprove or the family is racist. Why put your self in that situation when thier is black people from all over the world.( imma sound like Dr Umar) if you cant find a black man or woman in America find one in the Caribbean, find one in AFrica , find one in Latin America thats loves thier blackness. Keep it black lol that's it . 😆 . Some of ya have to stop forcing yourselves or glorifying people that outside of your community that have a hatred for your people because now it's a low self-esteem issue. Black men and women are beautiful (we come in different shapes, shades with different phenotype ) date each other , stop the abuse and make it work.
Beauty rituals, Fashion, Musical expression. : KEEP your beauty cultural rituals and dont water them down. ask ya grandma or aunts what they do. When it comes to fashion do not water down your African/ AA / AFRO Carribban/ style for nobody. Thier is no such thing of being TOO BLACK. stop conforming. Do those bantu knots , do wear those door knob earring, if your carribean be that badgyal wear those outfits. If people dont like it ....THATS THIER BUINESSS. When is comes to music keep everything black. the rhythm the women the stories. That's how to keep the music strong. Black people are the salt of the earth and melanin and sounds goes together thats why we are the best when it comes to MUSIC Because its in our DNA...

The rhythms, stories, and artistic expression originate from a profound source — Black DNA and history. Protecting and promoting this art form safeguards its power and ensures future generations remain connected to their roots. Finally, gatekeeping is discussed not in a negative light but as a necessary stance to protect Black creativity from exploitation. By consciously choosing to preserve and promote authentic Black culture across food, relationships, beauty, fashion, and music, the community can uphold its rich heritage amid external pressures to assimilate or commercialize these traditions. This holistic approach to cultural preservation empowers Black people everywhere to honor their past, sustain their present, and inspire their future.
