SSH’s Outstanding Service Award Winner!

During my time volunteering alongside students like Nurmira Atiqa, I’ve seen firsthand how small acts of kindness can transform lives. Helping seniors who live alone by distributing ration packs or tidying their homes may seem simple, but the appreciation and comfort these acts bring are profound. What inspired me most is Nurmira’s approach to service-learning: starting small, being consistent, and simply showing up with an open heart. You don't need a grand project or a special title to make a difference. Sometimes, lending a listening ear without judgment is the most powerful gift. Stepping out of your comfort zone can unlock new opportunities for growth and impact. Nurmira’s experience reminds us all that serving with purpose and empathy not only helps others but also enriches our own lives. Whether it’s a single act or ongoing support, every effort counts in building a caring community.
