‘Get Better’ Salad

I made this salad for my fiancé & I to help us get better! By the next morning— we felt better!

Listen to me, right now! You guys— if you have a VIRUS 🦠 (i.e non-bacterial infection) the only antidote once you have it is literally in what you eat. That is your only hope— eat what your body needs and help support your immune system.

Here’s what’s in my ‘Get better’ salad:

• Artisan Lettuce (not ice burg; iceberg lettuce is absolutely useless. It offers literally nothing for your body. You need lettuce that contains clorophyll and anthocyanins. Not just water and fiber.)

• Brocolli- high in glucosinolates which stimulate the body's immune system.

• Purple Onions- contain antioxidants like anthocyanins, which can help neutralize harmful free radicals in the body, potentially reduce inflammation and protect against cell damage.

• Pomegranate- POMEGRANATE is a POWERHOUSE when sick, especially with something viral. There is so much research to back the fact that pomegranate is one of the only foods in the world that can kill viruses like Influenza and COVID.

• Bean Sprouts- Yummy source of fiber, minerals, and vitamin C

• Oranges - Vitamin C + Immune System booster

• Feta Cheese - Protein, Vitamins, Minerals, and Probiotics

• Balsamic Glaze - Acetic acid in balsamic vinegar, which is the base of the glaze, can have potential benefits like aiding digestion, boosting the immune system due to its probiotic content, and potentially helping with a sore throat due to its antibacterial properties.

• Nuts or Peanuts - Protein, which your body needs when it’s trying to heal. But often low appetite + Nausea when sick prevents us from getting adequate amounts of protein when sick. Thus preventing us from being able to heal as efficiently.
