Cinnamon Sugar Vegan Donut Holes

Yep you read that right these are dairy free , eggless , not fried and delicious my friends.

Growing up these where a favorite of mine when I visited the local swamp meet . It was a completed without them 😅 Today we made a somewhat healthier alternative by baking them .

For those who maybe looking to spoil themselves this one’s for you . I’m a fan of everything in moderation so even though it’s the beginning of the year please be kind to yourself . My kids loved these and they come together quickly in one bowl . Don’t have a donut pan like ( me ) don’t worry I used a cake pop pan to create these donut holes . You can find it here on Amazon :

Spray the pan and add in this simple seven ingredient batter and you have donut holes 🤯

Here’s the recipe details :

1 cup all purpose flour I use @bobsredmill

1/2 cup granulated sugar @zulkasugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon Saigon cinnamon

1/2 cup soy milk + 2 teaspoons

2 tablespoons vegan butter

1 teaspoon Mexican vanilla extract

Topping :

1/2 granulated sugar

2 teaspoons Saigon Cinnamon

1 cup vegan butter melted

Cook for 20 mins at 350F in your cake pop pan covered , then rotate the donuts and remove the cake pop top and let them get golden brown for another 5 mins if you like them nice and golden brown . Test with a toothpick to make sure they are cooked throughly .

Many people ask, 'What exactly is a vegan donut made of?' It’s actually quite straightforward! Instead of cow’s milk, plant-based alternatives like soy milk (as in this recipe), almond, or oat milk work perfectly. For butter, vegan butter sticks mimic the richness without any dairy. And for eggs, clever bakers use leavening agents like baking powder and baking soda, sometimes combined with apple cider vinegar or flax eggs, to create that lovely rise and bind. This recipe uses baking powder, which makes things incredibly easy and ensures your donut holes are light and fluffy. One of my favorite hacks, which this recipe wonderfully features, is using a cake pop pan! Seriously, if you don't own a donut pan, don't let that stop you. A cake pop pan gives you those perfect little 'donut hole' bites. You can also use a mini muffin tin – just keep an eye on the baking time as they might be slightly larger, probably needing an extra few minutes. The key is to fill them about two-thirds full to give them room to puff up. And a little tip from my own kitchen: make sure to really grease those pans well, especially if they’re not non-stick, to ensure your precious donut holes pop out easily without sticking. Baking these cinnamon donut holes instead of frying them is a game-changer. Not only does it make cleanup a breeze, but it also results in a lighter, less greasy treat.
