Cinnamon Swirl Apple Fritter Bread

An easy and crowd-pleasing recipe! Enjoy this quick bread any time of year with coffee for breakfast or with tea for an afternoon treat. My family LOVED it!! 🍎🍞

Ingredients:

FOR THE BREAD

1/3 cup light brown sugar

I teaspoon ground cinnamon

2/3 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

11/2 cups all-purpose flour

FOR THE APPLE MIXTURE

2 large apples, peeled and chopped ( I bought a bag of sliced and peeled apples from Walmart)

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

FOR THE GLAZE

1/2 cup powdered sugar

2-3 tablespoons milk

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat your oven to 350°F Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.

Prepare the Cinnamon Swirl:

In a small bowl, mix the light brown sugar and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Set aside

Prepare the Apple Mixture:

In another bowl, combine the chopped apples, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Set aside.

Prepare the Bread Batter:

In a large bowl, cream together the granulated sugar and softened butter until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined

Assemble the Bread:

Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter, then half of the apple mixture. Lightly press the apples into the batter.

Pour the remaining batter over the apples and spread evenly. Top with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture and apple mixture.

Lightly swirl the top of the batter with a knife.

Bake the Bread:

Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare the Glaze:

In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread. #applefritterbread #applebread
