Beginner gym tips 🫶
Don’t focus on the number on the scale, bc it changes based on so many things you can’t control. Nothing is more discouraging than working out eating good feeling good about yourself then you step on the scale and see you only lost a few lbs or gained weight. Track progress pictures and videos instead to notice the changes in your body, and also pay attention to the way your clothes fit. You’ll see changes in your body before you see it on the scale, especially if you are weight training.
Celebrate the non scale victories instead. You can finally fit into a pair of jeans or a dress that you haven’t worn in yearssss. You can walk up to your 3rd floor apartment without feeling like you’ve run a mile once your at the top. You can actually get outside to run and play with your kids and actually keep up with them. Whatever you have accomplished that you couldnt do 6 months or a year ago small or big, celebrate them and feel good about yourself
Enjoy your journey and don’t compare it to someone else’s. Its your journey its the path that you’re supposed to go on to get where you’re supposed to be. Too often we compare our day 15 body to some one who’s been consistently working for 3 months or 2 years. Don’t get caught up in what you see on social media, we all had a starting point like I said mine was 375lbs. Find what works for you and stay consistent I promise you’ll see the results.
Bonus tip ✨ JUST START, stop thinking you need this or that to start and be successful. Start where you are with what you already have. Just be consistent in what you do, if you can only commit to the gym 3 days a week starting out then that’s fine but you better have yo butt in that gym all 3 days. Start with what is comfortable and what you’re able to commit to and BE CONSISTENT.
