28 weeks pregnant 🌸🤰
We made it to week 28 😍❤️🔥
It feels like just yesterday I was at 16 weeks, and now here we are, officially 28 weeks pregnant! Reaching this milestone feels incredible, as I've now entered the third trimester—the home stretch before meeting my little one. It's a mix of excitement, anticipation, and a tiny bit of 'oh my gosh, this is really happening!' At 28 weeks pregnant, it's amazing to think about how much baby has grown inside. Right now, my little one is roughly the size of a coconut or a large eggplant, weighing around 2.5 pounds and about 15 inches long. Their brain is rapidly developing, and they're starting to open their eyes and even register light. I can definitely feel those strong kicks and wiggles more often, which is always reassuring! It makes me feel so connected to the baby in the womb at 28 weeks, knowing they're getting ready for the world. For me, this week has brought its own set of experiences. While I still have moments of energy, I'm definitely feeling more tired than before, and finding comfortable positions to sleep in is becoming a real challenge. Braxton Hicks contractions have started to become more noticeable, which my doctor assured me is completely normal as my body prepares for labor. I’ve also noticed an increase in my appetite, but I’m trying to focus on healthy, nutrient-rich foods to support both of us during this crucial growth period. Now, about those old wives’ tales! One common query I've heard is, “does carrying low mean boy?” Many people believe that if you carry your baby low, it's a sign you're having a boy, and carrying high means a girl. While it’s a fun thing to speculate about, this is actually just a myth! The way you carry your pregnancy has nothing to do with the baby's gender. It’s more about your body type, abdominal muscle tone, and the baby's position. So, don't put too much stock into it – the only way to truly know is through an ultrasound! As I navigate week 28 pregnancy, I'm also starting to think more seriously about preparing for baby's arrival. This includes finalizing the nursery, packing my hospital bag, and discussing a birth plan with my partner. It’s a great time to start those prenatal classes if you haven’t already, and to keep monitoring baby's movements daily. Every kick and flutter is a reminder of the amazing journey I'm on. I’m also making sure to keep up with my prenatal appointments, especially since the glucose tolerance test is typically done around this time to check for gestational diabetes. It’s all part of ensuring a healthy third trimester for both of us. It’s truly a special time, full of anticipation and joy!
