Progress
We’ve had a lot of change these last few months trying to process total school refusal, finding what works for us, changing medications and trying to maintain my health (in the best way), and trying to balance everything. Work is slow going, but I feel like everything else is starting to turn up okay. 🥰
Dealing with total school refusal can be an overwhelming experience, not just for the child but for the entire family. From my own experience, it requires patience, understanding, and a willingness to adapt continuously. We've found that identifying what truly works for us often means trying different approaches over time, including changes in routine and professional help. Medication adjustments are another aspect that played a significant role in our journey. It's important to work closely with healthcare providers to monitor effects and side effects, ensuring the best possible outcome while minimizing disruptions to daily life. Balancing personal health alongside caregiving duties cannot be understated. I learned that prioritizing my well-being is essential to be effective in supporting my loved one. Implementing small self-care practices and setting realistic expectations helps maintain stability. Work progress may slow down during such transitions, but it's vital to recognize and celebrate the smaller victories that indicate forward movement. Overall, persistence and a supportive environment create a foundation where gradual progress can thrive, offering hope for better days ahead.
