🟢 1 Tick-size Reduction Measures

The stock exchange has an idea to improve the Tick-size Reduction of 5-50 baht stock price to make each price range narrower and HFT order delivery that was originally often considered to be more difficult to make a single trade for profit and help investors lower the cost of trading shares, boosting liquidity.

🟢 2 Measures Extra charge on high OTR

This measure, the securities market focuses on investors who focus on sending orders in large quantities, expecting that orders will not deceive investors or be unwanted. The criteria will require that those who enter the network will pay the stock exchange an increase in fees.

2.1 Send commands with a frequency of more than 50 times per active minute

2.2 Has a 100 times greater proportion of sending orders compared to matching trading items, or OTR

If you enter both, you will have to pay an additional fee of 0.15 baht per order. Only orders in excess of 30,000 items / day will not be collected with the market maker.

1 New Uptick Rule criteria not used

The securities market proposed a new concept of overseeing short sell, removing the old threshold requiring short sell to only use the Uptick.

The new threshold will instead installment the short sell to zero plus tick, but if a stock has a closing price down since 10% from the previous day's closing price; the next day, that stock will be subject to an uptick measure.

The stock exchange proposes that short sell stocks must be highly liquid stocks and wants to reduce volatility in small medium stocks by offering that short sell will not be possible in stocks that are underlying assets in ETFs and DWs.

As a result, there will be 12 medium-small stocks. It cannot be short sold, but in the SET100 group can still do the same.

3. Improve new HFT. Focus on behavior care.

In the past, people who sent HFT orders had to apply for permission to the securities market and have to set up equipment at the securities market building, but in the study of the securities market, interesting behavior was found.

It was discovered that the HFT network was sent in several groups of investors, including individual investors, causing the securities market to view the call to register as a way too narrow.

After this, the securities market will use the trading behavior review method or post-audit. If there is a corresponding behavior, it will be counted as HFT immediately.

🚫 2 Repeal restrictions on the use of HFT from certain groups to be available in all stocks because short sell eligible stocks already control it.
🚫 3 cancel the minimum resting time.

However, hearing on improvements to measures to raise confidence will be open for hearing between May 13 and 29, after which the comments will be updated and presented to the Securities and Exchange Commission or the SEC for consideration.

Asdet Kongsiri, Director and Manager of the Stock Exchange of Thailand, pointed out that this improvement is believed to contribute to more liquidity in the Thai stock market, which will come from many parts, both Tick-size adjustments that, in addition to reducing the cost of trading for investors, will contribute to the growth of the Thai stock market.
