Citrus fruits, such as oranges, lemons, and limes, provide a natural acidity that breaks down proteins, making the chicken juicy and flavorful. During the marination process, key components like honey and Dijon mustard enhance the chicken's taste profile, introducing a delightful sweetness and tanginess. For best results, allow the chicken to marinate for at least one hour, though overnight is ideal for maximum flavor infusion. When grilling, consider using bone-in chicken thighs, which tend to retain moisture well and offer more flavor compared to chicken breasts. Additionally, monitor the grill temperature to ensure even cooking and avoid burning. This dish pairs wonderfully with grilled vegetables or a fresh salad, making it a versatile addition to any meal. Explore new side dishes, such as quinoa or rice pilaf, to complement the citrus notes in your grilled chicken.
