Having dined at Fu Yuan Teochew Dining in Greenwood, I can say this place truly brings the heart of Teochew cuisine to the west side of Singapore. Beyond the popular dishes like the Teochew Style Pan-Fried Oyster Omelette and Live Prawn Typhoon Shelter, I highly recommend trying the Creamy Pumpkin Boston Lobster for its rich and unique flavors. The restaurant’s attention to traditional flavors while offering a modern presentation sets it apart. The Wok-Fried Preserved Radish ‘Hor Fun’ provided a comforting, savory balance to the richer dishes, and the Double-Boiled Salted Vegetable Pig’s Stomach Soup was a warming highlight, showing the careful stock preparation. For those celebrating special occasions, their Prosperity Abalone Yusheng is a must-try, adding a luxurious touch to the typical Yu Sheng experience. Desserts like the Mashed Taro ‘Orh Nee’ and Chilled Herbal Jelly ‘Gui Ling Gao’ offer a refreshing end to the meal, rounding off with authentic Teochew sweetness. The cozy ambience and detailed craftsmanship in every dish make Fu Yuan not just a meal, but a charming cultural dining experience. The location at 24 Greenwood Avenue is convenient, and booking ahead is advised given its rising popularity among food lovers seeking genuine Teochew flavors in Singapore’s west.
