MY FAV BREASTFEEDING DRINK! 🍷

Let’s be real—💧water is hands down the most important thing for keeping up your milk supply… BUT a mama still deserves a little sweet treat 🤭

And this one? It hits that sweet tooth I get every single day 👀🍼

Now that my son is 6 months old and starting solids, I don’t pump as often as I used to—but when I do pump… THIS is my go-to drink. It helps me get my biggest pumps and it’s SO good 🤍

✨ Milk-Boosting Mocktail Recipe ✨

• 100% Coconut Water

• Ocean Spray Cranberry Strawberry Juice

• Splash of OJ 🍊

• Ice ❄️

I’ll either sip this in the morning with breakfast (bacon, eggs & toast 🥓🍳🍞) OR chug it before bed and pump early in the morning while my husband’s getting ready for work.

Either way—hydrated mama + full pump every time 🙌🏼

What’s your go-to “booby drink” for supporting your milk supply? Drop it below 👇🏼💬

... Read moreIt’s so true, mama – water is absolutely essential for keeping that milk supply flowing! But let’s be honest, sometimes you just crave something a little more exciting than plain H2O, especially when you’re spending your days nursing or pumping. I totally get it! That’s why discovering delicious, milk-boosting drinks like my mocktail has been a game-changer for me. Speaking of ingredients, let's chat about coconut water, which is a star in my recipe. Many moms wonder about specific brands or ingredients, like 'Vita Coco on breastfeeding drinks.' While I can't endorse specific companies, I can tell you why pure coconut water, in general, is a fantastic choice for breastfeeding. It's packed with natural electrolytes like potassium, which are crucial for staying hydrated. When you're producing breast milk, your body's hydration needs are much higher, and losing fluids means losing those vital electrolytes. Coconut water helps replenish them naturally, supporting your energy levels and, in turn, your milk production. It’s like a natural sports drink, but without the artificial stuff, making it a perfect base for any milk-boosting mocktail. I've found that when I'm well-hydrated with electrolyte-rich drinks, I see a noticeable difference in the volume of breast milk in those bottles after a pumping session – it’s so motivating to see those measurement markings fill up! And for those moments when you're dreaming of a 'margarita breastfeeding' style treat – something fun and celebratory but totally safe for your little one – mocktails are your best friend! I know the longing for a special drink, especially when you’re abstaining from alcohol. My cranberry-orange coconut water mocktail definitely hits that spot, making me feel like I’m indulging without any guilt. But don't stop there! You can get creative with so many other non-alcoholic options. Think sparkling water mixed with different fruit purees, a squeeze of lime, and a sprig of fresh mint for a refreshing 'mojito' feel. Or blend some frozen berries with a splash of almond milk and a touch of vanilla for a creamy 'daiquiri.' The key is to make it feel special, perhaps served in a fancy glass with some ice, just like the image of my milk-boosting mocktail in a mason jar. It's all about making yourself feel pampered and keeping those spirits up while you’re doing the amazing work of feeding your baby. Beyond these fun mocktails, remember to keep a few other hydration helpers in mind. Herbal lactation teas (like fenugreek or blessed thistle, if your doctor approves) can be beneficial for some moms. And of course, plain old water remains king! I keep a huge water bottle with me at all times. On the flip side, it’s generally wise to moderate caffeine intake and completely avoid alcohol. The goal is to nourish your body and your baby, and these delicious, hydrating drinks are a wonderful way to do just that. Every drop of breast milk you produce is precious, and taking care of yourself with good hydration is a huge part of that journey. Keep those bottles filling up, mama!
