How do you deal?

A lady was walking through Publix today. Going from person to person with a baby in her arms and an older kid at here side with a basket full of formula and baby wipes. Asking other families to pay for her families needs, because she has 5 children and needs help.

So…. I’m torn.

Because while I do feel a little bad that she is unable to buy what she needs for her family… I also don’t. Me and my husband have full time jobs (and I actually have a part time weekend job as well). We bust our asses every day and still struggle to pay all our bills and put food on the table for our family of 4. Now I don’t know this lady… she could be in the same boat as us. I honestly couldn’t tell you. But help me to understand why my family and I should be put into a position to take food out of our family’s mouths to maybe help another. I say maybe because I just don’t know what is legit and what is not.

I try to help people to the best of my ability, I truly do. I don’t know, I felt a little different about this one. Not sure why. If I could I would help so many people… but I know there are programs and pantries that can help as well. I have been in positions we were struggling BIG TIME when our daughters were younger… but we figured it out. But it was very hard for me to ask people. Maybe that’s a character flaw of mine - I honestly don’t know.

It’s hard… I don’t want to be unkind to someone but I also don’t want to be taken advantage of. How can you tell the difference?

I hope you hear my heart…

♥️

... Read moreIn today's world, many face hard choices when it comes to helping others. The dilemma often revolves around the fine line between kindness and potential exploitation. How do we decide when to extend a helping hand? One approach is to consider the resources available through community programs, food pantries, and local charities, which can often assist those in need without burdening individuals. It's essential to recognize the signs of genuine need while also nurturing our well-being. Developing compassion for all, including our struggles, can guide our decisions. Emotional well-being is vital; thus, while offering help, it's crucial to first ensure our family's stability. Engaging with local organizations not only aids those in immediate need but also promotes a supportive community network. Acts of kindness can come in many forms, from making small donations to volunteering time at local shelters. Building connections with community service providers can foster an environment where needs are met effectively without compromising the giver's resources. Recognizing this interconnectedness can lead to a more compassionate approach to assisting those who are truly struggling.
