Shrimp Alfredo from Scratch 🍤….SO GOOD!
This is a household favorite. I’m not a measurements kind of girlie, so I don’t have specifics, but here’s the gist:
1. Season & sauté shrimp – set aside.
- Start cooking the pasta as well.
2. Melt butter in the same pan.
3. Add heavy whipping cream.
4. Add some of the pasta water.
5. Toss in cheese, season to taste .
6. Mix in cooked fettuccine
- This was 1 box.
7. Add the seasoned shrimp 🍤
8. Give everything a good mix.
9. Top with more cheese and parsley (optional).
10. Enjoy!
Pair this with your favorite veggie and garlic bread, and you’re set.

If you're new to making shrimp Alfredo or looking to enhance your homemade version, here are some tips that really helped me perfect this dish. First, when seasoning your shrimp, a simple mix of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a pinch of paprika works wonders to elevate the flavor. I like to marinate the shrimp briefly before sautéing to lock in those flavors. Using fresh fettuccine or even spaghetti can change the texture of your dish a bit, so feel free to experiment with your favorite pasta. Adding pasta water to the Alfredo sauce is a game changer—it helps the sauce cling better and adds just the right consistency. For the cheese, freshly grated Parmesan or Pecorino Romano are ideal, though a mix of sharp and creamy cheeses can make your sauce richer. If you want a slight twist, try adding a bit of garlic or onion powder to the sauce for depth. Pairing this meal with roasted or steamed veggies such as broccoli or asparagus adds a nice balance and freshness. Plus, garlic bread on the side is always a crowd-pleaser! Lastly, I like to finish the dish with a sprinkle of fresh parsley for a touch of color and freshness—optional but worth it. Cooking from scratch like this allows you to adjust seasonings to your liking, making every bite satisfying and comforting. Give it a try and enjoy a delicious shrimp Alfredo meal that's both simple and impressive!
