Boneless Saltimbocca & Bacon Garlic Wings (Part 2)
I know I've said this before, but it needs to be heard until the problem is fixed. Chicken nuggets are not boneless wings!
However, these boneless wings are chicken nuggets 🤣
Today on "Will it Blackstone?" Boneless Saltimbocca & Bacon Garlic Wings 😄
Let's answer some questions I always get about boneless wings. Yes, I deboned them. I used a sharp knife and scissors. No, my hands didn't hurt after. I get 4-5lb frozen bags, debone, then freeze in smaller packs. After you get a few done you kinda get into the groove and it'll take less than a minute. They're easier to do cold and sorta frozen, not solid but like partially defrosted firm.
Once you get the bones out set aside a few plain ones for dog treats 😆 For the saltimbocca wings pin a slice of prosciutto and sage to the side without skin, do the same with bacon and a clove of garlic for the other ones and sprinkle with pepper. I don't suggest adding salt to either since prosciutto and bacon are already pretty salty 😅
Hollow a lemon, fill it with minced garlic and onion plus a spig of fresh thyme, push in as much butter as you can and leave some extra on top to melt down into the lemon.
Get your snacking pizza rolls ready and cook a few slices of bacon, just for the grease 🤣 toss the filled lemon on the back covered and stir it occasionally as the butter melts.
Now for the easiest part 😂 start the wings skin side down in the bacon grease, flip when crispy, when the bacon and prosciutto crisp up they're done 🤣 only important thing to note is make sure you're drinking a beer.
By now the butter should be melted, thyme should be wilted, and it should be ready to dip and enjoy!
Boneless wings have become a popular alternative to traditional chicken wings, especially for those who prefer easy-to-eat, bite-sized pieces without the hassle of bones. This recipe demonstrates how to transform frozen chicken wings into delicious boneless Saltimbocca and bacon garlic wings by carefully deboning the wings using a sharp knife and scissors – a process that is easier when wings are partially frozen. The Saltimbocca style wings are a creative twist on classic Italian flavors, featuring slices of prosciutto and fresh sage pinned to the deboned wings. For the bacon garlic wings, smoky bacon and whole cloves of garlic add a robust, savory taste, complemented by freshly ground black pepper. Both varieties avoid adding extra salt because the cured meats already provide sufficient saltiness. An essential flavor component is the butter-filled hollowed lemon infused with minced garlic, onion, and fresh thyme. As the butter melts on the griddle near the wings, it creates a delicious herbaceous and garlicky sauce perfect for dipping the finished wings. Cooking the wings in bacon grease on a Blackstone griddle enhances their crispiness and flavor. Cooking skin side down first ensures a crispy outer layer while locking in juices. The cooking time is monitored closely, flipping once the prosciutto and bacon toppings become crisp. This recipe not only emphasizes flavor but also offers practical tips, such as saving plain deboned wings as dog treats and the importance of enjoying the cooking process with a refreshing beer. For wing enthusiasts, experimenting with homemade boneless wings like these Saltimbocca and bacon garlic varieties can provide a unique dining experience that stands out from typical frozen wing options. Incorporating fresh herbs, quality cured meats, and cooking techniques like using bacon grease on a griddle can elevate simple chicken wings into gourmet snacks ideal for parties or casual meals.
