French Restaurant ✨

Finally trying out this french restaurant i saw on tiktok, Maison Boulud 🇫🇷📍!

Sorry i know its complimentary but the bread wasn’t up to my expectations (lol im a nobody just thought other restaurants complimentary bread were all pretty yummy) for such restaurant… It’s soft bread (tasted like atas version of wholemeal bread), & butter was served cold so it was hard to spread.. Didnt catch the name of the circle puff looking but it wasn’t impressive either.. i just wasn’t sure what flavor it was supposed to deliver? i could only taste the truffle sauce 😂

OK MOVING ON ~

For starters we got Tarte Flambee, its like cheesy thin crusted pizza (no offence for the reference) but it was defo good thanks to the saltiness from the bacon bits ~ 4.8/5 🌟

Mains was great though!

1. Entrecote (Rib eye) with bearnaise sauce.. Juicy & flavorful ~ pretty sure wtvr kind of butter on it played a part to it! 4.8/5 🌟

2. Charred Spanish Octopus.. Omg the sauce was amazing.. Tangy + tomato-y (stewed sweet pepper romesco sauce) not as smoky tho but it was gooood! Tje octopus was perfectly cooked, not chewy at all!

4.8/5 🌟

For sides we had:

Gnocchi & Mushrooms, it was our first time trying gnocchi.. oops 😬 We do enjoy it but was it supposed to taste a little bland? i mean its defo fluffy hahaha.. idk the sauce along it wasn’t the best pair with the gnocchi.. 3.8/5 🌟

Lobster & Cauliflower gratin, it was creamyyyy!yum! but lobster is alil overcooked from it, however the portion of lobster wasn’t stingy! 4/5 🌟

Also, i think the service was great, waitress checked in with us afew times & refilled our glass of water promptly. Really liked the ambience (we had the indoor seats) ~

alrighty see uall on the next post!

... Read moreIf you’re curious about trying Maison Boulud Jakarta, let me share a bit more from my experience. The tarte flambee was a delightful starter with a perfect balance of cheese and salty bacon that really set the tone for the meal. For those interested in classic French dishes, the entrecôte with béarnaise sauce was juicy and packed with buttery flavors that left me wanting more — definitely a highlight! As for sides, I was excited to try gnocchi for the first time here. While it was fluffy and well-prepared, I found the sauce pairing a bit underwhelming in flavor — perhaps future visits will reveal better combinations. The lobster and cauliflower gratin was creamy and generous in portion, though the lobster was slightly overcooked but still enjoyable. One thing I noticed was the complimentary bread didn’t quite meet my expectations; it was soft but lacked the warmed butter spread that would have elevated the experience. Additionally, the truffle sauce on the small puff appetizer was the main flavor I could detect, leaving me wondering about the intended taste. The atmosphere inside was very pleasant and cozy for an indoor seating arrangement, complemented by attentive service — our waitress checked in regularly and kept our glasses filled, which I appreciated. If you plan a visit, I’d recommend focusing on their mains like the rib eye and octopus for the best taste experiences. I look forward to exploring their menu further next time, maybe trying some classic dishes like jarret de boeuf or other specialties Maison Boulud Jakarta is known for.
