Why I stopped obsessing over weight

Keeping it real I always been a petite girl and initially didn’t struggle to loose weigh postpartum, but I noticed this last two pregnancies my body changed.

Unsure of the causes I started to get concerned given my symptoms and looked for medical care. Unfortunately my doctors did not give me anything to help me mitigate my symptoms and just told me to try my best to maintain my weight so they are less severe. Stress, unhealthy food, and a sedentary lifestyle were tearing me up from the inside out.

I decided to take matters in to my own hands and work on every aspect of my wellness so I can be here for my kids because they are the ones that suffer the most when they see their momma like that.

I focused on the three planes of existence starting from within. You can do all the things in the physical world to loose weight but if your soul and mind are not aligned you will always fail to keep up.

My identity is aligned with the version of me that is healthy and fit. I make decisions from that perspective and I know that numbers don’t define my progress. I see the change. I feel the change. I notice my breathing patterns. I notice my mood. I notice my energy. If this post called your attention and you read through this remind yourself that you are also capable of achieving an identity shift that will in turn change your appearance for the better. Your body is unique to you and it has served you and kept you alive don’t punish it because of a number. It is now your turn to love it, embrace it, nurture it.

After two pregnancies, my body naturally shifted, and despite gaining weight from 155 to 160 lbs, I felt healthier because I prioritized my overall wellness—not just the scale. I found that by addressing my mental and emotional well-being alongside nutrition and physical activity, I was able to regain energy and improve my mood. Practicing mindful breathing, engaging in gentle exercises like yoga, and adopting a balanced diet rich in whole foods all contributed to my renewed sense of self. It's vital to understand that sustainable health goes beyond rapid weight loss. Aligning your mindset with the identity of a healthy person allows you to make empowering choices without punishment or obsession over numbers. Listening to your body's signals—like breathing patterns and energy levels—can guide you in nurturing your unique physiology. If you’re struggling as I did, know that reclaiming your wellness journey is possible. Embrace your body's story, love it for what it has done for you, and focus on feeling your best holistically. This approach not only enhances physical health but also creates a positive environment for your mental and emotional resilience, ultimately benefiting you and your loved ones.
