✨ ADHD Productivity Hacks That Actually Work

Hey girl! Here are some creative ADHD-friendly productivity hacks that I use to balance being a corporate executive and business owner—without burnout! These aren’t your typical “just buy a planner” tips, because let’s be real, that doesn’t always work for us. Or you end up like me with 100 planners and very little accomplished.

1️⃣ The “First Task is Fun” Method 🎮

Start your workday with something fun or engaging (not the hardest task!). This creates momentum and makes it easier to transition into more challenging work.

2️⃣ The “Brain Dump & Delegate” Trick 📝

Before starting my day, I dump all my thoughts onto paper—tasks, reminders, ideas—then I decide:

✅ What I need to do

🤝 What can be delegated (to my assistant, team, or tools)

💭 What isn’t urgent and can wait

3️⃣ Create a “Future You” System ⏳

Set up auto-reminders, templates, and automation to make life easier for your future self. I use scheduled emails, auto-replies, and pre-made templates to save time.

4️⃣ The “One Tab at a Time” Challenge 💻

Too many tabs = instant overwhelm. I use OneTab or a browser extension to hide all but ONE tab when working. It helps me focus and stop jumping between tasks.

5️⃣ Move & Work Combo 🎧🚶‍♀️

I take calls, brainstorming sessions, or emails on a walk. Walking or pacing helps me stay engaged instead of zoning out.

6️⃣ Task Pairing: Fun + Boring = Done ✅

I match a boring task with something enjoyable to make it easier. Example:

📞 Admin work + Lo-fi beats 🎶

📦 Packing orders + Netflix in the background 📺

💳 Paying bills + a fancy drink ☕

7️⃣ Reverse To-Do List 📜

Instead of stressing over an unfinished to-do list, I write down everything I accomplished that day. This builds momentum & proves I got stuff done!

✨ Being productive with ADHD is about finding what works for YOU. As a corporate exec & business owner, I use these strategies to thrive without feeling overwhelmed!

... Read moreLiving with ADHD can present unique challenges, especially in high-demand environments like corporate workplaces or when juggling entrepreneurship. However, implementing strategic productivity hacks can significantly enhance success and reduce overwhelm. The 'First Task is Fun' method, which encourages starting the day with an enjoyable task, can create a positive mindset and boost motivation. By doing something engaging first, individuals often find it easier to tackle more complex duties thereafter. Similarly, the 'Brain Dump & Delegate' technique helps in clearing the mental clutter, allowing for better focus on essential tasks while effectively utilizing support from colleagues or tools. Moreover, utilizing automation through the 'Future You' system can streamline many organizational aspects of daily workflows, making life easier in the long run. Setting up reminders, using auto-emails, or creating templates can also save precious time. Another effective method is the 'One Tab at a Time' approach, aimed at minimizing the common distraction of multiple browser tabs. This principle can be applied across various digital tools to keep focus sharp and workflow efficient. Walking meetings or call sessions, as suggested in the 'Move & Work Combo,' not only promote physical activity but also help maintain engagement during discussions. Lastly, the 'Reverse To-Do List' offers a refreshing alternative to traditional lists by focusing on achievements rather than incompletions. This can reinforce a sense of accomplishment and encourage continued productivity throughout the day. These tailored strategies aim to support neurodivergent individuals in their professional journeys, empowering them to find balance and success in demanding roles.

Love this. I think setting a Pomodoro timer helps when I’ve spent too much time sitting or doing a task- this keeps me more focused and engaged when I know I’ll be able to break away and come back to it. I don’t like being tethered !🍋🥰
