3 things I do to accommodate my autistic needs

It’s not always easy to remain productive being autistic. I get very easily distracted, I don’t manage my time well, I am often overwhelmed by my environment, and I lose sight of my initial goals.

I’ve finally accepted that my productivity looks different from those around me, and honestly, I’m okay with that. And the biggest, and most important lesson of them all? Rest is required. It’s not a reward.

How do you find ways to stay on task and be productive as an autistic person?

... Read moreBeing autistic can present unique challenges in maintaining productivity. Many autistic individuals find themselves easily distracted, struggling with time management, and feeling overwhelmed in various environments. It's crucial to recognize that productivity can look different for everyone, and this understanding can significantly improve daily functioning. One effective strategy is to utilize a support person who can provide gentle reminders and assistance in staying focused on tasks. This support could come from family members, friends, or professionals who understand the specific needs of autistic individuals. Another important aspect is knowing your limits and prioritizing self-care. On days when energy levels are higher, strive to accomplish as much as possible, but remember to pace yourself. Recognizing and respecting your body's need for rest is vital; it should not be viewed as a luxury but as a fundamental requirement for sustained productivity. Additionally, consider incorporating specialized tools and techniques that help manage sensory input and create a conducive working environment. Simple changes like using noise-canceling headphones or organizing your workspace can lead to improvements in focus and efficiency. Understanding these personal needs can empower you to create a fulfilling routine that aligns with your lifestyle as an autistic individual.

Why not? Theres no real reason that you can’t be nonbinary because you don’t relate to social constructs. In fact, that’s kind of the whole definition of nonbinary, as it relates to gender constructs anyway. Many people in the genderqueer movements of yesteryear identified with that label purely in
