... Read moreHey everyone! So many of you ask about my intermittent fasting routine and what I actually eat in a day to stay on track and reach my fat loss goals. I totally get it – it can feel daunting to figure out satisfying, high-protein meals that also fit your eating window. That's why I wanted to dive a little deeper into how I plan my meals to stay full, energized, and still enjoy delicious food, just like that mirror selfie with my 'what I eat in a day' caption suggests!
For me, intermittent fasting is all about flexibility and listening to my body, but always prioritizing nutrient-dense foods. My eating window usually starts a bit later in the day, so my first meal is crucial for providing energy and satiety. You saw my breakfast: a delightful peanut butter banana toast. This isn't just tasty; it's packed with healthy fats from the peanut butter and carbs from the banana, giving me sustained energy. I pair this with a vibrant yogurt bowl, loaded with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and a sprinkle of cereal for that extra crunch. This combination is a fantastic way to break your fast, offering protein, antioxidants, and fiber to kickstart your digestion.
Lunch is often something hearty that keeps me going for hours. My go-to is often a steak salad. Don't underestimate the power of a good salad! Mine features crisp lettuce, juicy cherry tomatoes, crunchy croutons (because balance!), creamy feta cheese, and tender, sliced steak. Topped with a flavorful dressing, it’s a high-protein powerhouse that's surprisingly easy to throw together, especially if you have leftover steak or pre-cooked protein. It’s a great way to get a ton of veggies in too, keeping things light but filling.
Mid-afternoon, if I need a little something, another yogurt bowl might make an appearance – perhaps that pink bowl topped with more fresh fruit and cereal. It's a quick, refreshing, and protein-packed snack to tide me over until dinner. And speaking of dinner, tacos are always a win in my book! My two tacos often include one with fresh lettuce and sesame seeds, and another loaded with flaky fish and a zesty salsa. Paired with a side of crisp sliced cucumbers, it’s a balanced meal that feels indulgent but is completely aligned with my goals. It shows you don't have to deprive yourself of your favorite foods; it's all about how you prepare them and what you pair them with.
And yes, dessert! You don't have to skip treats. That freshly baked, golden-brown loaf of banana bread? A delicious way to end the day. The key is mindful portion control and enjoying it without guilt. Remember, consistency beats perfection every time. Don't forget to hydrate throughout your fasting window, and don't be afraid to use apps like Litely (which I use!) to help track your progress and stay motivated. Focus on whole foods, ensure you're getting enough protein, and embrace the journey! What are your favorite fat loss friendly meals?
