I’ve been done wrong by people of all genders, I even travelled long distance for one of them and, this one is still the most confusing! Jesus take the joystick 🕹️… my life continues to give me more silly goofy stories to add to my memoir✨
Navigating the world of dating can often be a rollercoaster, especially when past experiences involve unexpected heartbreaks and confusing messages. From my own journey, I’ve learned that giving love freely, while beautiful, can also leave you vulnerable to those who may not have the same intentions. For instance, I once encountered a relationship where despite deep conversations about the future—love letters and talks about children—the connection abruptly ended with a breakup over text, right as Black History Month began. Moments like these were disorienting and painful, but they also helped me grow a stronger sense of self and awareness. For those living with cerebral palsy, dating might come with additional challenges, such as concerns over how potential partners perceive disability or how social situations are navigated. Yet, it’s important to remember that everyone deserves love and respect regardless of their physical abilities. Being open and authentic can help build meaningful relationships that honor both individuals’ experiences. In sharing my story, I hope to connect with others who have faced similar trials, encouraging resilience and self-love amidst the chaos of modern dating. Each encounter, no matter how confusing or painful, adds a new chapter to life’s memoir—proof that even in heartbreak, there is strength and growth. Keep your heart open, your expectations grounded, and remember that your worth is never defined by how others treat you.
