Supplements I take as a vegetarian and why

Keep in mind that I’m not a doctor, this is just what I take and for what reasons. Being vegetarian or vegan can lead to deficiencies so there are a couple supplements I take for that, but most of the supplements I take are for brain and neurological function. I buy my supplements at a local health food store so almost all of the products I buy are 100% organic.

⭐️Vitamin D3 + K2: I am vitamin D deficient and it helps my skin and energy levels.

⭐️Rhodiola: It helps with regulating stress hormones, anxiety, depression, and reduces brain fog. It helps me a lot with my appetite. Because it lowers your stress hormones, it makes your body not feel the need to eat as much.

⭐️Blood builder: it’s mainly an iron supplement but also has B12, and folate. I recently have had lower energy levels and I don’t eat a lot of iron rich foods so I thought it would be good to supplement since I’ve been anemic in the past.

⭐️Shilajit: it’s an herb that helps with energy and natural testosterone production. As a vegetarian eat a lot of soy based foods which uptake your estrogen production, so it’s good to balance your hormones out.

⭐️L-Tyrosine: it is an amino acid that helps create new neurotransmitters. Basically, taking this can help your brain work more efficiently and helps your brain regulate your emotions better.

⭐️B-12: I don’t take this every day anymore since it’s in my blood builder supplement. It’s important as a vegan or vegetarian to take b-12 because it’s in very few foods that we eat

⭐️Hawthorn: it helps control high cholesterol and blood pressure issues. I have higher than normal cholesterol which runs in my family.

⭐️L-Theanine: it’s another amino acid that helps with regulating stress and helps you sleep better

... Read moreAs a vegetarian, obtaining adequate nutrients can be challenging, leading to potential deficiencies in vital vitamins and minerals. Here are some important supplements worth considering: 1. **Vitamin D3 + K2**: Essential for energy, skin health, and immune function. This combination aids in calcium absorption, promoting bone health. 2. **Rhodiola Rosea**: Known for its adaptogenic properties, Rhodiola helps reduce stress and improve mental clarity. It's particularly beneficial for managing anxiety and enhancing mood. 3. **Iron / Blood Builder**: Crucial for vegetarians to combat anemia, this supplement often combines iron with B12 and folate, essential for energy levels and red blood cell production. 4. **Shilajit**: A mineral-rich resin that can support energy levels and hormonal balance, particularly important in reducing excess estrogen due to soy consumption. 5. **L-Tyrosine**: An amino acid that plays a vital role in the production of neurotransmitters. It helps enhance cognitive function and emotional regulation. 6. **B12**: Vital for nerve function and blood formation, it's often deficient in vegetarian diets, making supplementation important for long-term health. 7. **Hawthorn**: Supports cardiovascular health by managing cholesterol and blood pressure, particularly for those with familial cholesterol issues. 8. **L-Theanine**: An amino acid that promotes relaxation without drowsiness, helping to improve sleep quality and reduce stress. Overall, incorporating these supplements can help maintain health and energy levels while adhering to a vegetarian lifestyle, especially when it comes to filling any nutritional gaps.
