Of course this feels hard.
Of course this feels hard.
I’m literally trying to become someone I’ve never had to be before.
That kind of growth is uncomfortable.
It stretches you. It humbles you. It asks more from you.
So no, I don’t think I’m failing.
I think I’m in the messy middle of becoming.
And maybe that’s why it feels so heavy sometimes.
But I’d rather be uncomfortable while growing
than comfortable while shrinking.
If this season has been stretching you too,
maybe this is your sign that you’re not falling apart.
You’re just becoming. 🤍
Personal growth is rarely a linear or comfortable process. From my experience, the discomfort that comes with becoming someone new really marks a significant change in life. When you push past old boundaries, it often feels like a struggle because you’re venturing into unfamiliar territory—both emotionally and mentally. I remember times when I was stretched so thin by new responsibilities or challenges that I doubted myself. But looking back, those moments were essential for building resilience. It's like the process of molding clay—the pressure and shaping are necessary to create something strong and unique. It’s important to be patient with yourself during this 'messy middle' phase, where progress isn’t obvious and setbacks might feel like failure. This uncertainty is exactly what makes growth so transformative. When I shifted my mindset to see discomfort as a sign of evolving rather than falling apart, I was able to persist with more self-compassion. Furthermore, self-trust becomes crucial. Trusting that you have the inner strength to handle what feels hard allows you to keep moving forward, even when doubt creeps in. Surrounding yourself with supportive people who understand and encourage your journey can also provide much-needed motivation. If you’re currently feeling stretched, remember that it’s okay to feel vulnerable. These moments are temporary but powerful—they are the building blocks of who you’re becoming. In the end, growth is not about perfection but progress through resilience and courage.
