🌿 I am noticing how often I associate growth with struggle. There is an assumption that things must be hard to be real. But these lessons introduce something different — that peace and happiness are not rewards, but conditions that were never removed.
Review III — Lessons 101–102
🧩 (L101) God’s Will for me is perfect happiness.
I have believed that happiness comes after everything is fixed. But this idea says it is already given. The only thing that interferes is the belief that something else is required first.
🧩 (L102) I share God’s Will for happiness for me.
There has been a part of me that resists happiness, as if I don’t fully deserve it yet. But if I share God’s Will, then there is no conflict here. What I truly want aligns with what was given.
... Read moreThrough my journey with A Course In Miracles, Lesson 116 has deeply shifted my perspective on happiness and growth. Like many, I used to associate personal growth with hardship, believing that suffering was a necessary part of achieving anything meaningful. However, this lesson encourages us to see that happiness and peace are not distant rewards but natural states that have simply been clouded by our beliefs.
One of the key points that resonated with me is the understanding that "God's Will for me is perfect happiness". This line challenged my previous assumption that happiness comes only after resolving all problems or fixing what’s broken in life. What stood out is the reminder that happiness is already our birthright, and the real obstacle is the belief in anything else being required first.
The lesson also emphasizes sharing this happiness by aligning with God's Will, which helped me confront my inner resistance that suggested I might not deserve happiness yet. This resistance often leads us to self-sabotage or delay joy because we feel the need to 'earn' it. Recognizing that aligning my desires with God's Will means embracing happiness now rather than postponing it has been liberating.
From a practical standpoint, I’ve incorporated the practice of repeating the affirmations from the lesson throughout the day: "God's Will for me is perfect happiness" and "I share God’s Will for happiness for me." These have served as powerful reminders to pause, release any limiting thoughts, and reconnect with the peace that is always available.
In daily life, this approach has helped me shift how I handle challenges — instead of struggling against them, I strive to remind myself that peace isn’t something to be achieved after overcoming obstacles but is accessible alongside the process. This mindset brings a gentler, more compassionate attitude towards myself and others and cultivates a deeper sense of spiritual healing.
For anyone exploring spiritual growth and healing, integrating these lessons can pave the way to a more joyful existence free from the false belief that hardship is necessary for growth. The teachings of A Course in Miracles, especially lesson 116, can profoundly support anyone seeking lasting inner peace and happiness.
