Training this year has been way different than last year. I'm focusing on growth and healing, so while my district runs have been cut to once a week I’m still pushing out twice a week for my sprints and rocking out in my @Nike shoes that y’all know I’m grabbing at my local @DICKS Sporting Goods . Movement is medicine and I’m forever grateful for the ability to do just that. While I can, I will always get up and move!
As the seasons change, so too can our fitness routines. This year, I made a conscious decision to focus on both physical and mental well-being, modifying my training regimen to prioritize recovery and growth. With the realization that 'movement is medicine,' I've embraced a holistic approach that includes not only running but also rest days and cross-training. On Tuesdays, I listen to my body by incorporating rest and recovery, recognizing that recovery is just as crucial as training hard. Wednesdays have been dedicated to a more varied routine that involves yoga, cardio, and strength training to keep my workouts balanced. Taking the time for activities like cold plunges not only aids muscle recovery but also enhances my mental resilience. I utilize Nike gear that supports my training, available at local stores like DICK'S Sporting Goods, ensuring I have the right equipment to elevate my performance. These changes highlight the importance of adapting to our fitness journeys in a way that suits our evolving goals and lifestyle. It's a reminder that it's never too late to adjust our focus and find new motivation. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting out, listening to your body and being mindful of your training can lead to both growth and healing.
