KAS GLUTE BRIDGE TIPS AND TRICKS
KAS glute bridges are all the craze right now and as they should be!!
They differ from hip thrusts because they are an amazing exercise to keep tension on the glutes throughout the whole movement.
As a fitness coach, I love being able to provide form tips where I can to help you benefit even MORE from each exercise. Especially when it comes to glutes because…duh🤭
I’m going to dissect this exercise into 2 sections; the eccentric phase (down part), and the concentric phase (up part).
ECCENTRIC:
It’s important to keep your eyes forward during the movement. I see a lot of people who keep their head up during the movement which throws your spine out of alignment. Keeping your pelvis tucked and your core tight is also extremely important for proper spinal alignment. You should NOT be arching your back. Think of a “teeter totter” movement instead of arching your lower back.
CONCENTRIC:
It’s important to keep your chin tucked and eyes forward during this part of the movement as well. NO LOOKING UP! During this part your hips will be thrusting up, which means you should be engaging your glutes and applying EVEN PRESSURE throughout your whole foot when you’re thrusting.
