... Read moreDrew Gooden's "Greed is Destroying the World" video really struck a chord with me, and honestly, it put into words so many of the frustrations I've been feeling about the economy! It's not just a rant; he backs it up with some seriously stark realities, many of which I've seen firsthand or heard from friends. One of the biggest takeaways is how our living costs have skyrocketed since the pandemic. We're all feeling it, right? Groceries have never been more expensive, and it feels like inflation is out of control. What's even wilder is that U.S. wages haven't kept up with inflation. It's like every year, even if you get a raise, you're effectively making less money because everything else costs so much more. This isn't just about feeling a pinch; it's about a fundamental shift in our purchasing power. Then there's the crushing weight of debt. The video highlights how Americans owe a staggering $1.81 trillion in student debt. A college degree, once seen as a surefire path to success, now often comes with crippling debt that can take decades to repay. And it's not just student loans. The thought of unexpected illness is terrifying because people in the United States owe at least $220 billion in medical debt. It truly feels like many of us are one stroke of bad luck away from losing it all to medical bills. It makes you question the stability of our personal finances, no matter how hard you work. The housing market is another huge stressor. Drew Gooden (and the data he references) made it clear that high costs are keeping homeownership unaffordable to most households. It’s a dream that seems to be getting further and further away for many of my generation. I was shocked to learn that the average age of homebuyers is 59 years old – that's a generation later than it used to be! How are we supposed to build wealth when a basic necessity like housing is so out of reach? This all ties into what's often called the K-shaped economy, where it genuinely feels like there's two different economies happening at once. One benefits those who already have assets, while the other leaves everyone else struggling to keep up. Wealth grows exponentially, but wages aren't even outpacing inflation. The data shows the top 1% own 50% of US household stocks while the bottom 50% hold just 1%. It’s hard to invest and build wealth when you’re living paycheck to paycheck, let alone benefit from rising home equity if you don’t even own a house. What really got me fired up was the discussion on corporate greed. It's infuriating to hear about CEOs bragging in earnings calls about their "agile pricing initiatives" to ensure that inflationary pressures are passed along to customers. They're essentially admitting they're making us pay more, not because they have to, but because they can. It's a stark reminder that while we're told to work harder, save more, and pull ourselves up by our bootstraps, there are systemic forces at play. It’s not our fault if we weren't born with untaxed inheritance or decades of compound interest already working for us. Drew Gooden’s video really crystallizes the feeling that the system is rigged against the average person. It's a powerful and necessary wake-up call, urging us not to discredit our own lived experiences just because some numbers "look green" for the ultra-wealthy. If you're feeling the squeeze, you're not alone, and it's not because you're not working hard enough. It's a much bigger problem than that. What are your thoughts after watching it?

Homemade Chickpea Peanut Butter Cups
These look like normal peanut butter cups. They are not. The creamy center is made from sweetened Chickpeas and somehow tastes like peanut butter cheesecake frosting. Most people won’t believe it until after they eat one. ⸻ Chocolate Shell * 2 cups melted dark or milk chocolate *
