Gut Reset Smoothie 🫶

This is my go to Gut Reset Smoothie that is packed full of greens and trust me, your tummy will thank you!

🍌 2 Bananas

🥛 1 Cup Oatmilk (I get the Oatly Basic)

🍃 Spinach (as much as you can bare)

⚫️Chia Seeds

⚪️Psyllium Husk

This smoothie is not just delicious but also great for your digestive health due to its nutrient-packed ingredients:

• Bananas are a powerhouse of fiber and natural sugars, making them gentle on the stomach while promoting the growth of good bacteria. They also contain prebiotics, which help nourish your gut microbiome.

• Oat milk is often easier to digest than dairy for those sensitive to lactose. Oats themselves are a good source of beta-glucan, a type of soluble fiber that supports healthy digestion and helps regulate bowel movements.

• Spinach is loaded with fiber, but more importantly, it’s rich in magnesium, which helps relax the muscles of your digestive tract and keeps things moving smoothly. Spinach also promotes gut health by fueling healthy bacteria.

• Chia seeds are rich in both soluble and insoluble fiber. The soluble fiber forms a gel-like substance in your digestive system, which aids in the smooth passage of food and contributes to a feeling of fullness. They also help absorb toxins in the gut.

• Psyllium husk is known for its incredible fiber content. It’s commonly used to relieve constipation and maintain bowel regularity. It also acts as a prebiotic, feeding the good bacteria in your gut while helping to clean out your digestive system.

This smoothie provides a balance of fiber, hydration, and nutrients that work together to reset your gut, improve digestion, and keep your microbiome healthy.

If you like it a little sweeter I would recommended adding a few Dates to the mix!

The 'psyllium husk' and 'chia seeds' should go in last, right before blending, and make sure you blend immediately and thoroughly. Psyllium can thicken very quickly, so don't let it sit too long before drinking. If it's too thick, add a splash more oat milk or water. For an extra creamy touch, try freezing your banana beforehand! While the core 'gut reset smoothie' recipe is fantastic, don't be afraid to experiment!
