Gut Reset Smoothie 🫶
This is my go to Gut Reset Smoothie that is packed full of greens and trust me, your tummy will thank you!
🍌 2 Bananas
🥛 1 Cup Oatmilk (I get the Oatly Basic)
🍃 Spinach (as much as you can bare)
⚫️Chia Seeds
⚪️Psyllium Husk
This smoothie is not just delicious but also great for your digestive health due to its nutrient-packed ingredients:
• Bananas are a powerhouse of fiber and natural sugars, making them gentle on the stomach while promoting the growth of good bacteria. They also contain prebiotics, which help nourish your gut microbiome.
• Oat milk is often easier to digest than dairy for those sensitive to lactose. Oats themselves are a good source of beta-glucan, a type of soluble fiber that supports healthy digestion and helps regulate bowel movements.
• Spinach is loaded with fiber, but more importantly, it’s rich in magnesium, which helps relax the muscles of your digestive tract and keeps things moving smoothly. Spinach also promotes gut health by fueling healthy bacteria.
• Chia seeds are rich in both soluble and insoluble fiber. The soluble fiber forms a gel-like substance in your digestive system, which aids in the smooth passage of food and contributes to a feeling of fullness. They also help absorb toxins in the gut.
• Psyllium husk is known for its incredible fiber content. It’s commonly used to relieve constipation and maintain bowel regularity. It also acts as a prebiotic, feeding the good bacteria in your gut while helping to clean out your digestive system.
This smoothie provides a balance of fiber, hydration, and nutrients that work together to reset your gut, improve digestion, and keep your microbiome healthy.
If you like it a little sweeter I would recommended adding a few Dates to the mix!

You know that feeling when your digestion just feels... off? For the longest time, I struggled with bloating and sluggishness, trying all sorts of remedies. Then I stumbled upon the magic of a good 'gut reset smoothie,' and honestly, it's been a game-changer for me. This isn't just about throwing ingredients into a blender; it's about understanding how each one contributes to a happier tummy. Getting that perfectly smooth 'green smoothie' texture, especially with psyllium husk, can be a little tricky. Here's what I've learned from making countless 'psyllium husk smoothies': Always add your liquids first (like your 'oat milk'), then soft ingredients like 'banana' and 'spinach' next. The 'psyllium husk' and 'chia seeds' should go in last, right before blending, and make sure you blend immediately and thoroughly. Psyllium can thicken very quickly, so don't let it sit too long before drinking. If it's too thick, add a splash more oat milk or water. For an extra creamy touch, try freezing your banana beforehand! While the core 'gut reset smoothie' recipe is fantastic, don't be afraid to experiment! Sometimes, I'll throw in half an apple or a few frozen berries if I want a different flavor profile. A tiny pinch of fresh ginger adds an amazing zing and is also fantastic for digestion. For an extra protein boost, a scoop of unflavored collagen or pea protein powder can be a great addition, especially if you're drinking this after a workout. I've heard some people add a spoonful of almond butter for healthy fats, too! I personally find drinking my 'gut reset smoothie' first thing in the morning on an empty stomach works best. It feels like a gentle cleanse to start the day and helps kickstart my digestion. Consistency is key here; making it a daily or at least several-times-a-week habit can truly make a difference in how your gut feels overall. You'll notice less bloating and more regular bowel movements. It's like giving your body a little internal spa day every morning. What if I don't like the taste of spinach? Honestly, with the 'banana' and oat milk, the 'spinach' taste is barely noticeable, especially if you use a ripe banana. Start with a smaller amount and gradually increase it. And remember the dates suggestion from the original recipe if you need more sweetness – it's a natural and gut-friendly way to sweeten things up! For those concerned about 'psyllium in smoothie' grittiness, blending well and drinking promptly is your best defense. You want that smooth, vibrant 'green smoothie' experience in your favorite 'smoothie glass'! Embracing this 'psyllium husk smoothie' has transformed my gut health journey. It's simple, effective, and truly fuels my body from the inside out. Give it a try, listen to your body, and enjoy the benefits of a happy, well-nourished gut!
