Brown Sugar Brownies
Ingredients:
- 2 cups light brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar and melted butter. Mix until smooth and glossy.
3. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in the vanilla extract.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
6. Fold in the chopped pecans, if using.
7. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
9. Allow to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
