Tea Over Coffee✨

For my fellow nervous Nellies- I’ve been on this anti-coffee kick for about 3 months and I have felt in so much more control of my anxiety.

Your cortisol spikes naturally in the morning, right? And when do we have our coffee?! And usually on an empty stomach right? 🥴 You see where I’m going with this…

(Not all of us, but I know I’m not alone on that one 😂)

So I’m a toddler mom for the first time, and like a lot of moms I’m a little stressed and a lot tired 😂 I’ve been switching out coffee for lemon balm or chamomile tea in the morning and it’s made a huge impact in my day. I thought I would feel so much more exhausted but what I actually felt was- PRESENT! My anxiety was no longer ruling my day! I still have it- but when I feel it flaring up I brew some more tea 🤷‍♀️

There’s a saying in TCM that caffeine borrows energy from tomorrow, and I definitely felt this. I think now that it’s been months I’ve noticed my energy level is much more stable.

I’ve *tried* coffee since and my anxiety sky rocketed! This is just my personal experience, but if you struggle with anxiety like I do, maybe consider making the switch!

Blessed be✨

... Read moreFor many, the morning coffee ritual is a habit tied to wakefulness and alertness. However, research indicates that caffeine can exacerbate anxiety symptoms, making herbal options more appealing. Herbal teas like chamomile and lemon balm are known for their calming effects and may assist in reducing cortisol levels, which can help you feel less jittery and more focused throughout the day. Shifting your morning routine to include herbal tea instead of coffee can also promote a sense of well-being. This small change can be crucial for parents or individuals facing daily stresses, as it allows you to approach the day with a calmer mind. Additionally, the practice of mindful tea drinking can enhance the experience, encouraging you to slow down and be present. Depending on your personal response to caffeine, making this switch could significantly enhance your emotional balance and overall outlook on life. More and more people are exploring this route, sharing their positive experiences online and within communities focused on anxiety relief. If you're struggling with anxiety, this is one approach worth considering!
