One chicken can do more in the yard than most people expect. 🐔 They scratch, peck, turn soil, hunt bugs, and leave behind manure that can be composted for the garden.
A few things I’ve learned:
🌱 they’re great for cleanup in finished beds, not freshly planted ones
🐛 they really do help knock back bug pressure
🍎 kitchen scraps can become eggs, but feed still needs to stay balanced
💩 manure is useful, but it should be composted before going into garden beds
Chickens can be a huge help in the backyard, but they definitely do their best work where you want a little controlled chaos. 😄
