✨190+ lbs Weight Loss ✨

the past two years have been so hard. I still get constantly ridiculed for my weight on all social media platforms and in life. However, what people don't know is how hard I have worked to get this far, the struggle i have gone through. I have accomplished it with hard work and dedication, working out, and healing my relationship with food. I went from needing oxygen all day, prediabetic, high blood pressure...to being able to walk around everywhere I want with no oxygen, no longer prediabetic, blood pressure is great WITHOUT medication!!! I have easy days and I have hard days. But now my hard days consist of me not liking my body ...shocker right. I hated my body before but now I look in that mirror and see the impact of what I did to myself. The loose skin is disgusting in my eyes...it's hard to deal with. My sweet husband keeps me motivated and helps my mind a lot and without him I wouldn't be able to fight it. I feel like I have gone from one extreme to the other and it's painful sometimes. I still have such a long way to go and I just can't wait until the day I can get this skin off of me. Change is possible, but it takes dedication.

... Read moreI know many of you might be wondering, 'How did she do it?' or 'What does a journey like that even look like?' When I started my transformation, the idea of losing 190+ pounds felt impossible. But with dedication, a lot of learning, and some serious self-reflection, I found my way. It wasn't about quick fixes; it was about building sustainable habits, step by step, over years. My first big step was truly healing my relationship with food. For so long, food was either a comfort or an enemy. I started by focusing on whole foods, understanding portion sizes, and listening to my body's hunger cues. I didn't cut out entire food groups but learned to enjoy everything in moderation. Meal prepping became my best friend – it saved me from impulse decisions and ensured I always had healthy options ready. I found simple, nutritious recipes that I genuinely enjoyed, which made sticking to my plan so much easier. Alongside nutrition, incorporating movement was crucial. Initially, 'working out' meant short walks around my neighborhood – sometimes just to the mailbox and back. As my stamina increased, I gradually added more time and distance. Then came gentle bodyweight exercises, and eventually, I found joy in activities like swimming and light strength training. It was amazing to see my body gain strength and endurance over time. The key was consistency, even on days when I didn't feel like it. I often reminded myself that a short workout was better than no workout. One of the biggest challenges on this long journey, especially over these past 3 years (thinking back to 2022, 2023, and now 2024, like in those transformation photos!), has been managing my mindset. There were days, weeks even, where the scale didn't budge, or worse, went up. Instead of giving up, I learned to look beyond the numbers. I celebrated non-scale victories: fitting into old clothes, having more energy, walking further without getting winded, or simply feeling stronger. These small wins motivated me to keep pushing forward. And yes, the loose skin is a reality for many who experience significant weight loss, and it’s something I’m still navigating. It’s hard, and it can affect body image even after achieving incredible health goals. What helps me is focusing on the health improvements I've gained – no oxygen needed, blood pressure is fine, no prediabetes! It's a constant reminder of how far I've come. I've found comfort in supportive communities and understanding that this is a natural part of a profound body transformation. It's about embracing the journey, scars and all, and recognizing the strength it took to get here. If you're starting your own journey, remember to be kind to yourself. Focus on one small change at a time, celebrate every victory, and understand that consistency beats perfection every single time. It's a marathon, not a sprint, and your dedication will pay off.
