What’s one thing you wish someone told you before becoming a mom?

Becoming a mom is everything I dreamed of… and nothing like I expected at the same time 🤍

No one told me how much I would lose pieces of myself…

and slowly find a new version of me I didn’t even know existed.

No one told me how lonely it can feel in the middle of a full house.

Or how heavy the mental load gets some days.

But no one told me how deeply I would love either…

a kind of love that changes everything.

If you could go back…

what’s one thing you wish someone told you before becoming a mom? 💭

One thing I wish someone had told me before this journey is to prepare for the emotional rollercoaster that comes along with it. It's not just the sleepless nights or the constant care for a newborn, but the internal shift — the feeling of losing little parts of your former self and slowly discovering a new identity shaped by motherhood. Many don't talk about the isolation that can sneak in, even when your home is full of life and love. You can feel lonely in the chaos of daily mom duties or overwhelmed by the mental load that accumulates as you juggle caregiving, household management, and your own needs. It's perfectly normal to encounter these feelings, but it helps immensely to acknowledge them early on and seek support when needed. Another truth I wish was shared with me is the depth of love that motherhood brings. It’s a unique, powerful kind of love that can feel all-encompassing and change how you view the world and yourself. This love becomes a source of strength during tough times and a beautiful reward for the sacrifices you make. If you’re about to become a mom or are navigating early motherhood, know that it’s okay to feel a mix of emotions — pride, exhaustion, joy, loneliness, and everything in between. Remember to be kind to yourself, find your new version at your own pace, and lean on communities that understand the #momlife journey. Sharing experiences and vulnerabilities with other moms can be a lifeline and a reminder that you’re not alone on this beautiful, complex path.

I wish someone told me how guilty you feel for mourning your old life, even though you wished for a baby for so long you still miss how easy leaving the house was, how much you’ll miss going to the gym and taking long showers 😭
