✨🤨Controversial Mom Truths🤔✨

❤️ Motherhood is the most beautiful, chaotic, and emotional rollercoaster I’ve ever experienced. And while I wouldn’t trade it for the world, some truths hit differently when you’re in the thick of it. 🫶🏽🥺

1. “Motherhood is lonely, even when you’re never alone.”

Motherhood often means being surrounded by your children 24/7 but still feeling isolated. The conversations revolve around snacks, nap times, and tantrums, leaving little room for meaningful adult interaction. It’s not about not loving your baby—it’s about craving connection on a deeper level with people who “get it.”

2. “You can love your child more than anything, and still miss your old life.”

There’s an unspoken grief in letting go of the carefree days of spontaneous plans and uninterrupted sleep. Loving your new role as a mom and longing for aspects of your old life can coexist—it doesn’t mean you’re ungrateful; it means you’re human.

3. “You don’t need to cherish every moment—some moments just suck.”

The pressure to enjoy every tantrum, diaper blowout, or sleepless night can feel overwhelming. Let’s be real—some moments are just exhausting and frustrating, and that’s okay. You don’t need to treasure every second to be a great mom.

4. “You’ll never please everyone, so stop trying.”

Everyone has an opinion on how you should parent—whether it’s family, friends, or strangers online. Co-sleep or sleep train? Breastfeed or formula feed? Vaccines or less/no vaccines? Whatever choice you make, someone will disagree. What matters is what works best for you and your family. You know your baby the very best.

5. “You don’t have to sacrifice your happiness to be a good mom.”

Society often glorifies the idea of moms “doing it all” and sacrificing their needs. But you can’t pour from an empty cup. Prioritizing your mental health, hobbies, and relationships doesn’t make you selfish—it makes you stronger and more present for your child. It makes you a better mom and you. 🫶🏽

💬 Can you relate to any of these? Which one stands out the most to you? Or do you have your own motherhood truth to add to the list? Let’s keep it real in the comments—because no mom should feel alone in this journey. ❤️

... Read moreIt’s so true, that first "controversial mom truth" really hit home for me: "Motherhood is lonely, even when you're never really alone." I remember thinking, how can I be surrounded by little people 24/7 and still feel this profound sense of isolation? It’s not just about the lack of adult conversations, though that’s a big part of it. It’s a deeper, more complex feeling that many of us experience silently. For me, the loneliness wasn't just about missing deep chats with friends; it was also about a shift in identity. Suddenly, I wasn't just me anymore; I was "Mom." My interests changed, my schedule was dictated by nap times and feedings, and sometimes it felt like my old friends, who weren't yet parents, just didn't "get it" anymore. You can love your child more than anything, and still miss your old life – that's another truth that feeds into this loneliness. You grieve a past version of yourself, and that grief can feel very isolating if you don't have someone who truly understands. So, how do we navigate this feeling? Because while it's normal, it doesn't mean we have to suffer through it. First, seek out your village. This doesn't mean you need a huge group of mom friends. Sometimes, it's just one or two people who you can be completely honest with about the struggles. Join local mom groups, attend story time at the library, or even connect with other parents online. Platforms like Lemon8 are fantastic for finding people who are going through similar stages of motherhood. I've found so much comfort just reading posts from other moms who articulate exactly how I feel. It's about finding those connections where you can say, "Yep, Motherhood is lonely, even when you're never really alone," and someone else nods in understanding. Second, prioritize yourself, even in small ways. The article mentions you don't have to sacrifice your happiness to be a good mom, and this is crucial for combating loneliness. When you lose yourself completely in motherhood, you can start to feel disconnected from your own identity, which deepens the isolation. Even if it's just 15 minutes a day for a hobby you love, a quiet cup of coffee, or a walk alone, these moments can help you recharge and reconnect with who you are outside of being a mother. It reminds you that you're still a whole person, not just a caregiver. Third, communicate openly with your partner or support system. Sometimes, our partners don't fully grasp the depth of the loneliness we feel, especially if they're not home with the kids all day. Having an honest conversation about needing more adult interaction or simply wanting to feel seen and heard can make a huge difference. Don't assume they know; tell them. Finally, give yourself grace. There's a lot of pressure to "cherish every moment," but honestly, some moments just suck, and that's okay. It's okay to feel lonely, to miss your old life, and to not be "on" 24/7. Acknowledging these feelings without judgment is the first step towards processing them and finding ways to cope. You're doing an amazing job, and these feelings don't make you any less of a wonderful mom. Remember, you are not alone in feeling alone.

i’ve been looking a lot into banned and challenged books and what that exactly means. when a book is banned, that means that it has been removed from a collection (something like a library or state) due to a challenge to its content, morals, or themes. have any of you read any of these? what did

Okay, picture this: a book gets *banned*. Like, literally someone out there said, "Nope, this is too much. We can't handle these ideas." It's like the literary equivalent of getting grounded, but on a whole other level! 😂 I've always been a bit of a rebel when it comes to boo
