Me & my ADHD: 8 hours on a puzzle, zero breaks 🧩

If you have ADHD, what’s the longest you’ve ever hyperfocused on something?

Here’s the thing about ADHD: I can’t always sit still long enough to finish a chapter in a book, but somehow I can spend 8 straight hours on a puzzle without eating or even remembering to take a bathroom break.

That’s the hyperfocus part no one tells you about. When my brain locks onto something it finds exciting, it feels like nothing else exists. It’s fun in the moment but then I look up and realize I’ve completely ignored my body.

I’m still figuring out how to balance this. Learning to pause, drink some water, maybe even step outside before diving back in. But honestly, there’s also a weird joy in these moments because finishing something I started feels like a victory.

So yes, it took me 8 hours, but I did it. And for once, my ADHD worked in my favor.
