Portobello Alfredo

Step one: set your pan to a medium high heat, and allow pan to warm.

Step two: season sliced portobello mushrooms with salt, pepper, and garlic powder

Step Three: Fry mushrooms until golden brown. Do not add any oil or butter until the end of the frying process, as mushrooms will soak up any moisture.

Step Four: Once cooked, remove mushrooms from pan and set aside

Set water to boil, add salt to prevent sticking

Cut your half stick of butter into pieces and melt in the pan used for mushrooms

Step Five: Slowly start whisking in parts of the flour to your melted butter. Do this bit by bit to avoid dry spots

Step Six: add in your cream, while whisking. add pasta to the boiling water.

Step Seven: Add Parmesan in small increments, allowing the cheese to melt between additions. add a small amount of pasta water to your sauce and allow to simmer. drain the pasta afterwards

Step Eight: Combine mushrooms, Alfredo sauce and cooked fettuccine. top with parmesan and enjoy!
