This is the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule Foam.
I finished a mini. This was ok. It was hydrating, and it lathered pretty well. But there was nothing super remarkable about this cleanser. It didn't really break me out which is great. I love using Centella Asiatica because it's super calming to your skin, so I actually use this brands Centella Asiatica serum every night and I've noticed a huge difference in my skin since I've started using it. But I don't feel this way about the cleanser. It didn't deeply cleanse my skin either, it felt more like a surface cleanse than a deep, penetrating cleanse. I also did not like the way it smelled. I would use it again in a pinch, but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy this again.
... Read moreAs someone constantly exploring K-Beauty, the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule Foam has been on my radar for a while, especially since I adore their Centella serum. Many of you are curious about this product, from its packaging to its texture, and whether it truly lives up to the Centella hype. Let me dive deeper into my personal experience with this cleanser.
First off, let's talk about the packaging, as I know many search for details about the 'Ampoule Foam tube' or the 'brown tube'. The cleanser comes in a small, light brown tube, which is quite practical and travel-friendly. It’s a squeeze tube, making it easy to dispense just the right amount of product without waste. The design is minimalist and clean, truly aligning with the brand's aesthetic. It’s compact enough to fit into any toiletry bag, which I always appreciate.
Moving on to the product itself, particularly its 'texture' and how it foams. When you squeeze it out, it initially appears as a pearlescent, creamy paste. It’s not a gel or a liquid, but has a nice, substantial feel. A small amount goes a long way. When you add water and lather it up, it transforms into a rich, dense foam. I found that it foamed up quite well, creating a soft, cushiony lather that felt gentle on my skin. The 'foam texture' is definitely a highlight; it’s luxurious without being overwhelming or stripping.
Now, about the 'green cleanser' query – this is interesting! While Centella Asiatica, a key ingredient, is often associated with a green color due to the plant itself, the actual cleanser is not green. It’s a milky white, almost translucent, creamy product before it lathers. So, if you're expecting a green-tinted cleanser, you might be surprised. The 'green' association likely comes from the natural, soothing properties of Centella, which is exactly why I was drawn to it.
In terms of my overall 'review' experience, as much as I hoped for a miracle, it was just okay for my skin. While it boasts hydration and that lovely foam, I felt it provided more of a 'surface cleanse' rather than a deep, pore-purifying one. For someone with very sensitive, dry, or easily irritated skin looking for a gentle morning cleanse, this could be a fantastic option. It certainly didn't cause any irritation or breakouts for me, which is a big plus. However, for my combination skin that sometimes needs a bit more oomph to clear pores, especially in the evening, it felt a little lacking. It leaves the skin feeling soft, not tight, which is great, but I personally prefer a cleanser that makes my skin feel incredibly clean and refreshed without being stripped. The scent was also something I struggled with; it has a subtle, almost earthy, medicinal fragrance that wasn't particularly pleasant for me, though scents are very subjective. If you’re a fan of Centella for its calming benefits, you might still enjoy the overall experience, especially if you prioritize gentleness above all else in your cleansing routine.
